  1. Past hour
  2. We’re not scouts but that doesn’t stop us writing off players in the premier league based on all kinds of personal bias/ignorance. Can’t have it both ways.
  3. It's common sense lad.
  4. would have loved us getting Cherki just the creativity we need in the front three
  5. Isn't the same true for Mbeumo last season, both for goals and assists? And people in here were clamouring for him before he decided on Man U.

    Anthony Elanga

We have to ask ourselves which teams we struggle against, and it’s not imo the kind of teams where Elanga would make any difference whatsoever. Do we beat Everton, Bournemouth, Fulham, these kind of teams because we have Anthony Elanga instead of Jacob Murphy? I don’t see how. I don’t think he’s better than the Murphy of the previous two seasons, and he doesn’t provide us with anything we’re missing in the squad in terms of profile, so we’d still need to sign another £40m+ player in that position if we want to actually compete for things imo. I also think with some time and coaching you could ask Gordon to play on the right and you instantly have someone who is better than Elanga ever will be in pretty much every regard. So, £10m-15m as a rotation option that eventually replaces Murphy as second choice? But we already have Osula who can be that anyway Long story short I don’t think it would be a good signing at all, sorry
  7. This is such a crap response.we aren’t scouts.
  8. People tell about Forest’s over performance. It’s the same for the players. Elanga has over performed his ‘output’ particularly his assists. Over twice his expected assists were converted
  9. Well yeh, Botman's been injured for an entire season.
  10. Agree that he's lost his way and has more to offer. But I have seen zero evidence he is 'much better' talent wise than Elanga.

    Anthony Elanga

Talent wise he’s much better. Just a rotten mentality and attitude. I think the environment at ManU has meant that he’s lost his track. I don’t want him but I’d rather pay the money for him than Elanga if I was forced between the two. Don’t want either
  12. This has absolutely nailed it. Close the thread and stop whinging.
  13. Ikon

    Anthony Elanga

Yep no high lines against us from many teams. That’s when we will struggle.
  14. I wouldn't want to pay 50m for Elanga, no doubt. But he's quite clearly a better and more developed player than Garnacho?
  15. Dan Burn has contributed around 10x as much as Botman since he's been here...
  16. Ikon

    Anthony Elanga

It would be. But less so than 50-60 for Elanga.
  17. He is 23, played for an inferior team all season and got a good assist and goal average, he knows Isak well and they are mates. Very fast, our front there Will be a nightmare for the opposition, no high lines against us! I am all for It if It is in the 40-45M range
  18. Going to be such a gutter when he goes to Spurs for £45m.
  19. Sorry Froggy, you think 60m for Garnacho would NOT be a ridiculous price?!
  20. Ikon

    Anthony Elanga

Chelsea and Dortmund in for Elanga as well now.
  21. I’m getting more excited by this signing, as and when we pull it off.
  22. If we don’t get what we want this summer I’m scared Eddie will walk

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Would definitely be up to take a punt on him for little money instead of 50-60m on Elanga. He has talent. Then put the money in other areas. It’s not like Elanga is much better than Murphy anyway. Can’t lose too much taking a chance on him. I much prefer Akliouche though (more expensive obviously)
  24. I think Murphy’s emergence over the last season and a half allows us to take such a risk and bed a project player in at right wing. His ceiling is very high and he’s still young. Being part of a good group of players and coached by Howe could be the making of him at PL level.
  25. With all the extra games we’ll need a deep squad though. If we don’t add proper depth this summer I’ll be expecting a really inconsistent season and big problems with injuries.
  26. Also could see the start of a Froggy/Mackem alliance which would last the rest of the summer before imploding when Sunderland get their only 6 points of the season off them
