    MON the saviour

with that logic you'll be saying West Ham should be winning the league because they beat manure. Oh, its you I should have guessed mackems.gif It IS quite canny to see the great Martin O'Neill not doing so well mind. It might be canny to see him struggling at the moment, but it would also be sensible to judge him at the end of next season when he's had a season with his own squad rather than struggle with dross like Gavin McCann. It makes me chuckle the people who said when he took the job, "oh, he's got a job on his hands to keep them up" then when he really does show he's got a job on his hands, express some kind of surprise. but he did have his three new faces on show tonight... glan only has three players donchanow MON had 5 on show today tbh.
  2. Players are under instructions not to sign autographs outside the training ground.
  3. that is what i thought at first, but the development is going to be built in phases, so i'd guess that planning applications will be staggered rather than one big one to boost the value of the club. Aye, 3 phases all submitted individually.
  4. mackems.gif Indeed, absolute bollocks. Over the past two years we have played our best football and got our best results without Parker in the side.
  5. The bloke hasn't got a fucking clue.

    Bramble or Gooch

See, I don't believe Moore is "definitely off" at all - I've had this beliefe for quite some time and recent developments re Bramble and Onyewu have strengthened this belief. But I guess our fearless leader will reveal all at the end of the season... Will have to say but Moore has said he wants to go back to Australia.

Not ready yet to be honest, needs more time to settle.
  14. You can still cancel if you want to. Are you certain? It doesn't say anything about cancelling the tickets in the email I received. Yeah you can, think you have 7 days or something there is an email address you need to use, I'll see if I can find it.

    England

I'd be lying if I said I didn't give a fuck, I find friendlies and even qualifiers extremely boring most of the time but I love the major tournaments, especially as they are during the summer and no Newcastle matches.

  18. Gazza was chubby as a kid but Mick Quinn's name would be more appropriate in that song, or Hooper. Hooper was 16st, I remember his first game at Villa Park and someone shouted "nowt will get past that big fat c***" and he turned round and winked, he was right too we won 0-2. Hooper started well for us. I remember it was a game against Southampton at home where he dropped a major b*llock where things started to go wrong and we lost 2-1. I remember it because it was the first Newcastle game I'd went to in the Premier League, and the Newcastle fans sang, "Super Hooper" at him, and to the same tune, "Dodgy keeper" to Dave Beasant in the Southampton goal. Was it not Super Dooper Hooper? That goal against Southampton though, the fat c*** never moved. Le Tissier was 30 yards oot and didn't even hit it hard, any athletic keeper would've saved it. Keegan went mental after the game at the abuse Hooper got. Aye it was Super Dooper Hooper, I remember going to a reserve game and cunt refused to give me his autograph! Wanker. Didn't he also do a massive fuck up against Luton in the FA Cup?
  19. They have made a BLUNDER!!!! Hahah someone might get sacked tomorrow! http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/9691/10mq7.jpg
  20. One of the main problems Gateshead have is playing at the International Stadium, it is f****** s**** for watching football. They are looking into sites for a new ground at the minute I think and with a new ground I think they will attract more people to watch. They used to play at The Pitz, that's where Gateshead FC played when they were in the football league, The Pitz, Ropery Road. They got 30,000 in against the dippers one time, but the fact is Gateshead is a different place to Newcastle, my local allegiances stop at The Tyne I'm afraid, and clearly HTT is the same. They call themselves geordies like, and I suppose they speak like us. I though the exact definition was "must be born within one mile of the Tyne". For people like me who was born in the General on the West Road, it's actually borderline that it's more than a mile from the river. Going by what HTT said people from Wallsend aren't Geordies. Surely Wallsend people are Geordies. Johnny my definition of geordie is more liberal than HTT's. I class anyone from Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Gateshead as Geordie. Aye, I'd class them as Geordies but HTT said Gateshead isn't in Newcastle so they are not Geordies, well Wallsend isn't in Newcastle it is in North Tyneside.

  22. Quite ridiculous justification/basis for keeping Roeder on. So a manager doing poor in the first few seasons, culminating in the fans wanting him sacked doesn't compare at all to our situation? Ok, then. If you look at our situation, Roeder has actually done better than AF did in his first few seasons. I'm not sure if you understand but people can't predict the future. Hence why Man U fans at the time wanted him sacked. You're reading my post and thinking how great AF has been over the last 10 years. Have a think about that and have another go at replying. You back a managment team on their track record - Roeder has no track record, AF did. It has nothing to do with predicting the future. In business, owners and other funders back management teams with track records - not ones who don't. You don't seem to be able to grasp the concept that you are comparing two very different situations. Just because our situation is comparable in terms of wanting the manager sacked, doesn't mean that its the same as Ferguson's situation. Two very different people, different managers, different ability/quality at two very different clubs at two very different times. But if that's the case why did the fans want him sacked? Just admit that if we were in that situation most of our fans would want AF sacked. Kevin Keegan didn't have a track record either remember. I would be happy with that level of success now. Of course I know there will never be an identical comparison. Arguably though, Roeder was successful enough last season to show he had some promise. Nevertheless, I have already said that I haven't made my own mind up yet, but what is the point in sacking him when we have nobody (decent) to replace him. We will end up going around in circles like we've been doing. I don't know the answer, i'm just trying to get some alternate views going so we don't get 4 pages of "Sack the rat faced c***". Keegan didn't have any track record at all in terms of management, you are correct. The difference here being that Roeder has a track record of failure.
