More than one in three West Ham and Newcastle United fans are considering giving up their season-tickets, according to research. Virgin Money's Football Fans' Inflation Index, which has tracked match day costs since January 2006, says die-hard supporters could give up their tickets as the credit crunch bites. While 24 per cent of season-ticket holders are considering cancelling, with three per cent thinking about giving up going to all games and 21 per cent considering cancelling and buying tickets when it suits, the survey says clubs most at risk are West Ham, Newcastle and Blackburn, where as many as 37 per cent are having second thoughts about renewing. Even fans of Premiership and European champions Manchester United are feeling the pinch with 36 per cent considering giving up season tickets. Malcolm Clarke, chairman of the Football Supporters Federation, said: "Over the past 15 years football inflation has consistently exceeded ordinary inflation and the industry may well now pay the price for its short-sightedness in allowing that to happen. "At the end of the day watching football is a leisure activity and it would be very surprising if it was immune from the sharp effects of the recession, particularly at the top end of the game where prices are so high."

NACHO NACHO MAN!!!! I like Nacho, don't know how good he would be in the Premiership but he is a canny SPL player. Apart from being the spitting image of Owen, I'm not sure how good or bad Novo is. Hes f*cking crap man....

Why would we pay £4.5m for a player out of contract in the summer, people talk about us selling Owen for that much so I cant see B.Ferguson being anywhere near that. He has 18 months left...

:clap: :clap: I hope we aren`t planning or hoping to sign anyone born in London or a player married to a Londoner or good friends with Londoners, we have enough to put off a potential signing as it is without adding to it. Being a southerner myself I do find it a bit a thick but I view it in the same condescending way I view the hatred that Scotland has for England. Its a one way thing I or my friends don`t have an opinion on "Northerners" one way or the other, everyone are just people, you either like them or not, Culture, accent, stereotyping means nothing to me. Only because we robbed Villa when we took £12 million off them for Milner and we robbed Mallorca when we took Jonas for nothing, add to that the money we have stolen off West Ham for Dyer. How much is that worth and how long is it since we've had 3 such deals in our favour. If we'd kept Milner and paid the asking price for Jonas we'd have had a net spend of something like £25 million and most people would have been happy that we'd spent that much. If we'd kept Dyer in the previous summer window we'd have had a net spend them of £17 million, going off the figure of £9 million mentioned by Allardyce. Thats a lot of ifs...
