  1. Fair enough I stand corrected that I misread it about them paying a third and I wont edit my post as I admit I was incorrect regarding that. However I still do not see why the club are taking stick for the costs of policing and stewarding and the point stands that Sir Bobby himself is not footing the bill and that is what the post implies and would be a journalists dream. We are picking up bad enough press as it is without people putting out inaccurate claims and even worse or own supportres believing it.
  2. The club already have their own foundation in which they give to and help promote The Newcastle United Foundation. Do you not think it is a good gesture that they are willing to pay a 3rd of the costs of such a big event after all the money is actually going to policing, stewards etc not the club itself. Believe it or not in paying that they are actually making a nice gesture and a donation but its far to easy to twist it into a negative story for the club. I myself, for my full time job, work for and with charities (and actually have set up a Male Cancer Awareness Charity myself) and if most organisations would help with a third of the costs of charity raising events they would be applauded not be slagged off for it. Don't get me wrong I am far from happy with alot of what the club is doing at the moment but they are getting a slagging off here for something I do not agree with. I am not even going to waste my time responding to James.
  3. Aye the 3 parties being Toast, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the club. Nowhere does it say Bobby himself is to pay.
  4. I got a telegram from Alan Shearer along with an autographed shirt from him and the team sent up for my wedding a couple of weeks ago
  5. I love the fact that people want the likes of Jason Scotland and Ross McCormack but turn their noses up at current SPL strikers when it was only last year McCormack was playing there and Jason Scotland made his name for himself in the SPL too.
  6. Aye you are right. Thanks for everything Mike....
  7. Was he not rumoured to be looking for something crazy like 40k a week?

    Pay cuts

    No another 12 months
  9. I keep seeing all this talk of pay cuts. If there is no relegation clauses in their contracts does anyone really believe that any of the players will take a voluntary pay cut? No chance..
  10. Seem a fair bit of Krul at Falkirk and he looked pretty good. I remember even in a game that Celtic scored 5 against him the commentators were still raving about him. Thing is if we don't give Krul his chance now he will be off too. There were a couple of decent Dutch sides linked with him last summer and whispers of interest from Chelsea. I really cannot see him being happy as a back up keeper in the Championship.
  11. Will have to be in the house. I could not handle going to a pub up here and every fecker trying to wind me throughout the match.
  12. Do they fancy playing in the fizzy pop league?
  13. A decent and cheap buy for our starting 11 in the fizzy pop league tbh
  14. Aye that would really help our run in...
  15. Alot of the current squad. Owen, Duff, Geremi, Viduka, Butt All players who were of a far better standard before the signed for us.
  16. Regardless of what you think of the fanzine I don't get how you can say they obviously don't support the team? Why because they are critical of the shambles of whats going on? That does not make them any less of a supporter...
  17. Don't be silly, Llambias reckons we are getting 46 points. Its all going to be cushty!
  18. Another way to look at him is his cost to us. Conservatively estimating his wage as £100,000 per week, plus the transfer fee, minus the compensation from the FA comes to a total of around £33million for his services. He's played something like 68 games for us in all competitions (excluding friendlies) & scored 30 goals. Not a bad return in terms of goals to games. But... £33million / 68 games = £485,000 per game £33million / 30 goals = £1,100,000 per goal That's just s***. Well spotted it has not worked out & has been expensive if only I had of known that. I like your He's played something like I was expecting a ball park figure but you nailed it with 68. Stats can be twisted to whichever way you like though. But if we are going by your logic, lets have a look at the current set up attempt in Xisco Conservatively estimating his wage as £25,000 per week for roughly 7 months, plus the transfer fee (4.8 million?), comes to a total of around £5.5million for his services. £5.5million / 4 games = £1,375,000 per game £5.5million / 1 goals = £5,500,000 per goal Go Team Ashley... that doesn't work fucknuts , you need to reduce the transfer fee pro rata for how long he's been here so far vs the length of his contract owens almost seen his contract out so hoying it all together works, xisco not even a season so it doesn't Resorting to insults, I didn't think that was allowed on here...

  20. It's not stupidity on Kinnear's part, quite the opposite. He has no business managing a Premiership club, he'd basically be an average sort of manager in the lower divisions truth be told, and deep down he probbaly knows that. In his wildest dreams he can't have imagined he'd ever get the chance to manage a Premiership club again, and he'll hang on for dear life to the opportunity as long as he can. If that requires he tow the line and do what he's told by the guys in charge, not a problem. I reckon he'd suck Llambias off to keep the job if that's what was asked of him, because once he's gone from Newcastle he'll never have a job like it again. Shambles. Don't be silly. "Team Ashley" know what they are doing, remember JFKs better than Cappello...
