Possibly but it isn't like every player new to the Premier League hits the ground running. For example, look at all the quality European players the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool have bought who haven't performed. There are no guarantees. I'd rather they signed someone who's proven s***...like oh I don't know...Damien Duff .

and 2 centrebacks... and a goalkeeper. Woodgate and King are quality. Yes they're injury prone but one will normally be available when the other isn't and both can carry their defence on their own (as Woodgate did ours when he was here).

The annoying thing is that now Spurs have their left hand side sorted out which has been their achilles heel for years. Add two quality central midfielders and they're gonna be a dangerous side.

Who Modric? I don't think we can draw that conclusion. When i read it i thought it was more like we have an interest but thats as far as it as gone hope im wrong like I wouldn't expect Keegan to go any further then positive words/admitting an interest in signing a player, not until the deal was done. The fact that he hasn't denied the rumours or ridiculed them as he did with the Henry rumour makes it pretty clear that we are after Modric. But it doesn't tell us anything about how close we might be to signing him IMO. It's also telling how he jokes about Henry and Deco being at the training ground but not Modric.

Yep, not much new stuff in this one either, basically they are summarizing what certain foreign pundits have been reporting regarding Modric and Newcastle. It does mention a 15m fee that's supposedly the right price. Says Keegan would pull out a first big summer signing if this was to go through, and then concludes how Tottenham and Newcastle fans have been discussing the transfer on some forums. Some spurs fan apparently thinks Modric would go to Newcastle for some extra cash rather than come to Tottenham and play in Europe next year. No new info, they're just milking out what's left of those reports from yesterday. Some things never change.
