    John Carver

Bit pathetic how Matterface said Carver was a bit parochial and over plays the Geordie card AFTER he speaks with him
  2. Everton away in the FA cup, 0-1 - Ian Rush scored for us. Think I was at that. Did he score some kind of backwards header? Iirc it was a scrappy tap in
  3. This goes back to what I said a few pages back. I was behind the dugout on Saturday and Carver spent most of it shouting at Abeid
  4. What got me was how we were playing the worst team in the league, lost 6 in a row yet we still had no plan to beat them Absolutely no tactics from Carver except launch it forward. He spent 99% of the game stood with "Stoney" just watching and clapping. All I saw him do was shout at Abeid a lot.
  5. He looked a bit lost to me. I was sat quite near the front and he was continuously getting shouted at by Cisse and Carver on his positioning. Kept looking to the bench like a lost kid, as if to say where should I stand? One moment he was in the centre circle with his arms in a confused impression trying to understand Carver's message. Took about 3 players to explain it to him Had a decent game though, if a bit rusty

    Alan Shearer

Saw the same old story about Ruud Gullit. Was anything new / interesting said?
  7. Pearce will be putting Darlow up front soon
  8. Bit worrying these 2 are often on the bench for a shite Forest team
  9. They're basically looking for someone daft enough to operate within the narrow constraints they'll give them. Style of play, etc is a distant secondary consideration. What constraints? If you mean little control over transfers and your best players being sold to bigger clubs, this is ~99% of manager positions, especially if they are looking to France as rumoured (though rumours are often incorrect). Nah, like ALL HIS BEST PLAYERS GETTING SOLD ALL THE TIME marra Not sure if you are serious here MrM but I'm not entirely convinced about this statement tbh. So who have we sold, the list really isn't that long and it's not ALL our best players: (not going to take every example here like for example Best, Duff, Nolan, Barton, Routledge, Forster, Simpson etc. because these deals made sense) Bassong - Had a great one season we got 8m for him, we had just been relegated, in the end proved great business because he was s**** after he left us. Carroll - We got 35 million for the player, still to this day think that was a great deal for a oft injured player who had proved himself for half a season in the PL. Cabaye - 20 million for our best player, who clearly wanted to leave after going in the huff in the summer because we knocked back Arsenal. The only thing wrong with this deal was we never replaced him. Debuchy - 10 million for a player that been out most of the season and getting close to 30 looks pretty darn good now especially when we replaced him with a quality player who is much younger and for half the price, great business. That's all I can think of, 4 players, in all the time he's been here. I'm not trying to stick up for Ashley here but this line that gets thrown around isn't really backed up, and all really goes back to Carroll because he was a young Geordie lad and Cabaye because we never replaced our best player. I agree with Baba, there's no constraints really here that other managers in other parts of the world don't live with on a daily basis. Circumstances a bit different but don't forget Pardew mentioning Demba Ba's release clause at every possible moment

    John Carver

Yeah complete shit. Forgotten how much of a gobshite he is
  11. depends what he was shouting to be fair

    Lee Charnley

Charnley clearly is Ashley's voice but the fact he's local, worked at the club for years etc gives me some small hope that he actually gives a shit
  13. I'm waiting for a manager to come out and say "come on it wasn't proper rape was it?" But in all seriousness surely the law should distinguish between a violent rape and the circumstances Evans is under? I think a lot of people are seeing these headlines and assuming that he has raped someone in a dark alley rather than the grey area of drunken consent.
  14. Agree. There are a few exceptions, I like Danny Murphy a lot and Jenas has come across wel
  15. Really getting sick of BBC Football coverage. Always thought they were way ahead of ITV but have sunk as low. I like Lineker but the analysis from their "pundits" is appalling. Robbie Savage is one of their headline acts ffs You can see Lineker a bit embarrassed on MOTD when he gets such shit responses. Savage just shouting 'penalty in my book!' Dreadful
  16. Congrats on the 2 top 10 finishes Alan Now piss off
  17. The holdup is probably because he wants to sign Gouffran in January
  18. Said it a million times but I would be stunned if Carr hasn't got someone up his sleeve. Foreign coaches would be more comfortable with the structure so there'll be no drama. They'd be on low wages and we'd probably tell them they'd get the Arsenal job in 2 years if we do well
  19. Pre Reading id have been chuffed with Adkins. Not sure wtf happened there
  20. This is joint first with Souness being sacked for me
