They've brought a whole lot of avoidable attention on themselves and their corrupt ways. Hopefully the screw continues to be turned and we see a positive outcome and true reform. How it can be seen as anything other than anti-competitive behaviour is beyond me - it's about as blatant as it could be.

He's looking a bit podgy on Instagram to be fair

They do the moneyball thing and have done for ages, and they're one of the most successful examples of it in English football. If you look at the fees they've commanded for players they've picked up for peanuts, it's really impressive. They won't go bonkers, they'll be looking to bring in the right players with the right attributes at the right prices and it'll all be done based on analysis of what clubs who have stayed in the league have done historically. It's not a guarantee but they've probably got the best chance of staying up out of the three.

Whether it's right or not, Arsenal need to sign some sexy names to keep other top players at the club happy/content, sell season tickets and remain commercially attractive. Willock could be the next Messi but because his name has been around for a while and he isn't coming in under a fanfare, he's expendable. They'll put the funds towards someone they can build a load of PR noise around and who might ultimately be worse than Willock but for a while at least, the sponsors and fans will be happy.

It's fucking tragic!

Other clubs require their players to return to pre-season with a certain level of fitness already so this sort of shit doesn't happen. What the fuck is this fuckwit still doing managing at the highest level FFS!? Embarrassing doesn't even come close.

I agree, he's far from being the biggest problem in the squad. He's limited because he's an out-and-out left-back with none of the attributes needed to play the more modern wingback role but you know what you're getting from him.

Exactly that. We arguably had better options on the bench than we did on the pitch. Southgate seems like a great guy and the players obviously love him but it just feels like a bit of a bottle job at the most crucial times. Absolutely paramount in his mind last night should've been to do everything to avoid penalties and yet he left his substitutions (barre one) until extra time whereas i think Mancini made 5 trying to win the game. We didn't have a shot for about 70 minutes and still no changes. We almost bottled it against Denmark with similarly shit decisions and i think he could've done more to try and change the game against Croatia in the world cup as well. That's the best chance we've had to win a trophy for 50 years and it just feels like we let them win rather than them having to fight tooth and nail to do it. We were in a final FFS - throw caution to the wind and unleash our creative players rather than bow out with a whimper and subject our players to another scarring penalty defeat.

Bale would be a good strategic move but not necessarily a good footballing one. Bringing someone like him here would be a strong signal to other players that the club is attractive, on the up and a good career move. Even just having the chance to play alongside Bale would be a strong enough attraction for some players to sign. Then there's the PR the move would generate......

10 years is far too long. 2 years I could stomach just to be rid of the parasite, but 10 years is unacceptable

Just ‘plan’ would be a massive improvement!

It would have taken a sophisticated manager with intelligence and top notch man management skills to work with and get the best out of Hatem. It's no wonder one dimensional simpletons like Pardew and Carver couldn't work with him. Pardew liked characters like Williamson - quiet, grateful, no bother, no talent. No doubt Hatem was a pain in the arse to manage at times, but what he was capable of on the pitch should've negated all of that. Obviously you can't have players kicking off all the time but you never heard anything about Hatem doing that. He was just a bit enigmatic - exactly the kind of player and character that Keegan and Sir Bobby would've relished working with. He would've been an absolute joy to watch under either of them (with a massive sexy smile on his face).

Given that it's Staveley's takeover and Rafa was involved in her last takeover attempt (in some way?) i'd be staggered if he wasn't her first choice. The only things that might stand in its way are the cost of releasing him from his contract and/or him being too honourable to walk away from it.

This is the crux of it. I don't think he's a bad person and i don't blame him for taking a high profile PL job despite the fact he doesn't deserve it. If they offered it to me, i'd take it and I've never managed or coached a football team before. But it would probably set me up for life financially, so..... He is, without question, a shit manager though. An outdated, cliche-spouting, talentless dinosaur who is very much Ashley's man. For that reason he deserves no professional respect at all. But everyone saying they hate him and all that is a bit much. He doesn't seem like a bad guy - i couldn't imagine Shearer being mates with him if he was.

What ”things” are going to be going slower? If everyone is working from home, it's pretty reasonable to assume that normal checking procedures have been disrupted somewhat?
-
Massive bullet dodged for any quality player we didn't end up signing. Can you imagine Modric being managed by Pardew - he'd probably drop him in favour of Colback.
-
Hughton too really.

If it doesn't happen today it's not happening. It should be done already. Staveley has been trying to buy us for over 2 years! What makes you think that if it doesn't happen today she's just going to give up?! Chill out!

1. Pardew 2. Kinnear 3. Dennis Wise 4. Treatment of Jonas 5. Treatment of Keegan 6. 2 relegations 7. Those jeans 8. Defacing the stadium with SD shite 9. Renaming the stadium 10. Wonga I reckon that's pretty close to the top 10 but not necessarily in the right order.

reconnected with a mate recently who doesn't want rafa and pulled the boring line ffs also thinks he's "always at war" with the bosses Never underestimate the stupidity of people.

Project Dragon I don't want Bale, he has proven he is a mercenary. I would rather sign younger talent with a view to building a side to compete 3 years down the line. I know what you mean but im not going to turn my nose up at talent like Bale (if this is true), especially after some of the crap Ashley has picked up and put on the pitch. If we can get him at a massive knockdown price because of his age and the fact that Real Madrid don't want him, fair enough. He's a perma-crock though so if he's going to cost us a chunk, leave him where he is. I'd rather we raided Wolves for Ruben Neves and Adama Traore.

Forgot he even existed!
