  1. I think it was in reference to some quotes attributed to him saying that the lads were enjoying training more under the new “gaffer” As a player, if the Manager chucks you a ball and says 'right lads, play!' that's inevitably going to be more enjoyable than running drills all the time. It's also never going to win you anything, but for that to be an issue you need players with ambition and the right attitude ie. the type of player we haven't been prepared to buy under Ashley.
  2. That's a battle you're never going to win in this place mate. I've tried and given up. Plus, wrong thread?
  3. I still can't dare to dream - too many false dawns. I've just been assuming it's not going to happen like always until i hear otherwise. And if I do, i'm gonna get wrecked for a week straight.
  4. There's no doubt he'd improve him. Just giving him some proper instructions and a structure to work to would help no end.

    Rafa Benítez

stopped reading the question here tbh.

    Rafa Benítez

Could anyone see Rafa playing ASM? I’d hate to see him benched if Rafa came back. If it’s a case of Rafa or ASM who would you pick?
  7. Good, who wants wholesome?! You want people to have a bit of an edge surely? He is a funny guy though and he does come across as a genuinely good lad
  8. Oh it’s not and they know he’ll be controversial and not give a fuck. Which is surely better than the play it safe, say nothing out of line clones they usually have on there? Hence my original post.
  9. What must've happened to the guy to make him crave attention so much that he's literally prepared to do anything, regardless of how cringeworthy. He'd be a therapist's dream.
  10. I'm not suggesting Keane is decent in any way but you can hardly accuse the guy of toe-ing the line. He's a massive tiresome tool but the point I was trying to make is he doesn't just play it safe like a lot of the others.
  11. You can still be a nice guy, but have the PFM mentality. Crouch after all made his career for 15 years as a tall white striker you just aimed long balls at, managed for the most of it by the likes of Pulis, Hughes and 'Arry. really like crouch and love his podcast but the above is correct and he's trying to make a name for himself in punditry atm it seems, maybe coaching one day, you won't succeed by being honest about PFMs It's odd that budding pundits tend to go down the toe-the-line route rather than actually trying to stand out with honestly and harder hitting opinions. I can't stand Roy Keane but at least he's his own man and isn't afraid to be honest. Same with Souness to an extent (can't stand him either surprisingly). If you can't separate the 'nice guy Bruce' from the 'shit manager Bruce', you shouldn't be working in punditry or sports journalism.
  12. What a tragic bellend! Get in the sea you fucking melt

    Nabil Bentaleb

We have one, he's called Jonjo Shelvey and apparently most people hate him. Can't fucking win at this club! Most people dislike having him in the team because he's a lazy cunt who ALWAYS looks for the 50 yard ball over the top. People fucking moan either way - too much sideways and backwards passing without him in the team, too much forward passing with him in the team. Given the fact none of our players are going to be coached into improving under this lot, i'd rather have Shelvey in the team every day of the week despite his alleged laziness. If you're hanging on the hope that the 3 Steves are going to turn one of Hayden, Longstaff or Bentaleb into the new Cabaye you might as well nod off again and carry on dreaming. Aye, the only options are passing it sideways or backwards or wtfhoofing it 50 yards. Shelvey finds his target a lot. To suggest otherwise is just blinkered nonsense.

He's only been here 2 minutes and he's playing under the worst manager in the league. Give him a bit of time FFS! You don't do well in the German top division if you're a shite player - we're far too quick to jump on players here. He's clearly being hoyed into the centre with no direction at all and we're expecting him to rip up trees. Diame was given dogs' abuse before he turned into a colossus under Rafa, he was well and truly written off as a pile of shite. I'm not suggesting Bentaleb will do the same because Bruce is a far cry from Rafa, but we just never seem to learn the lesson about the pitfalls of writing players off too early. Might also be worth reading the Manquillo thread right now if you need another example.
  17. When we signed this guy there was a lot of noise about him being all hot air and no end product. WTF was that all about?! Given what he's done in the PL and cup so far, for one of the worst teams in the country, he must have been pissing the French league.
  18. Someone on Twitter saying he's refused to take a drug test, which was the reason for him being left out on Saturday https://twitter.com/NG1892_/status/1234784980959666181
  19. He's not even in the same ballpark! Robert regularly scored screamers from 35 yards plus. Silva is more technically gifted without a doubt but Robert shits on him in the left peg stakes
  20. Brucey announces plan to go back to basics......for the fourth time this season
  21. If you're in Bruce's shoes, you know you can't change the system! They're all too set in their ways cos Rafa. Including the new signings somehow. Rose, Bentaleb, St Max, Joelinton, Lazarro - half of the starting lineup at the weekend were signed since Rafa left.
  22. People here are saying even we are doomed and we're seven points clear! They say that knowing we're the shittest team in the league on the pitch, that's why. And we've still got to play most of the teams around us. We're a 3 point banker at the moment
  23. How many in the Premier League though? 118 wins. 185 losses. Better than i expected tbf
