He was good but you can see why Howe wasn't rushing him back, he was rusty and grew into the game. Starting him against Barca would've backfired so again Howe gets it right on this one.

Chopping and changing managers serves nothing, clubs do it all the time and most of the time all it does is produce short term gain but long term stagnation. You'd be absolutely mad to replace a guy who could easily be here for 20+ years who literally lives and breathes the club. Sometimes he will get things wrong, but a cup and 2 CL qualifications in 4 years - what manager in the world gets that with a team that was facing relegation when he joined?

Once we start clicking upfront, teams will take a battering. We're very hard to break down and I don't often see us getting dominated. Our attack is our weak point as you'd expect, hopefully Gordon finds some form as I have no doubt Wissa/Woltemade will be fine.

I think he's the only player under Howe who has regressed, injuries no doubt played a part but he's lost the explosiveness he had when he first came. We need to move him on.

It has to be this surely? Elanga with some fine tuning and a clinical striker up front will do crazy numbers for us.

We did good defensively, Lewan - one of the best strikers around barely got a sniff. The main difference being we were very wasteful, sloppy passes, crosses, wasted corners etc. Every time I saw Pedri play a ball it was essentially 100% accuracy. We weren't far off matching the LA Liga leaders, but players like Harvey Barnes and Gordon imo are not CL quality. Pretty sure Schar was concussed for that first goal also. Ah well.

I think next summer is the last chance we have to get a semi decent price for him and I'd be looking to move him on. No chance we get close to what we paid either.
