I love how for the most part people only seem to think that we won because Chelsea put out a weakened team completely missing the fact that we did too.
-
Nah just the highlights. Might be on the BBC I player.

With Perch being suspended I'm not too confident tbh.
-
Fuck man, with a 4pm kick off the place is going to be rocking. Must remember to try and not get too pissed and have to go home just after kick off to bed.
-
It's funny how most of them think that only one or two of our players would get in their first team.
-
As it was during injury time I'm assuming so. Aye, I was fuming cause I thought it would add on more injury time but it didnt; the ref blew right after the 6 minutes were up despite numerous long pauses in stoppage time.

What about Perch being suspended?

I'd add to that Shola has always had a strange ability to come good in a big game when it really matters and make a positive contribution. (derby matches, big European away games, Forest last season etc) Some of the hysterical criticism he gets on here is crazy. We all know Shola can look awful at times but right now he is a better and stronger player than he has been at any point in his career and I can't think of any club which wouldn't want him as a squad player - which is what he has become for us since the ascendancy of Andy Carrol. Aye, thats why Id be tempted to put him in against the Mackems after his past exploits against them; who can ever forget the great 'shoulder header'!?!?

Its great how we are quite happy to sustain any kind of physical injury if it is compensated by something magic on the pitch. Ive lost count of how many times I've raked my shins on the back of seats over the years during celebrations; any other situation and id be fucking livid and probably crying but its OK this time because Sherla scored.

Big Sol to gore Kenwyne in the first minute and then the rest will take care of itself.

That performance basically sums Ameobi's whole career up to a tee. On his day he threatens so much and can look a genuine quality player but the problem is his 'day' doesn't come round too often. He could so easily be abysmal against Stoke. But well done Shola lad.
-
I can't beleive some of the nit picking of his game. 'He loses the ball and does nothing to get it back' What?? He busts a lung; sometimes 20+ yards to try and get it back.
-
I'm still furious at the thought of the penalty. It was never a pen in a zillion years. The bloke fell over and conned the ref who basically crumbled under the pressure of the thought that he would be overseeing a defeat of the champions on their own turf and all that would entail if he had made the wrong decision and not given the pen. What a nob.

What I love most at the minute is how it suddenly feels exciting again to support NUFC. I probably haven't felt this way since 02 or 03. We've got some class new players and everyone is fighting tooth and nail for the cause. I can't wait for this match to come.

I might be wrong here but didn't we beat Mourinho's Chelsea in the FA cup at SJP when Kluivert scored?
-
The best thing about watching the highlights for me is seeing the looks on the faces of the Chelsea fans as we were banging the goals in and particularly after Ameobi's winner! Oh and as the players came out of the tunnel I caught sight of what looked to be about six youngish Chinese Chelsea fans all clad in strips complete with scarves and flags and cameras snapping away.........UNLUCKY you glory hunting turds

Best feet I've seen for ages... brilliant close control. Better feet than Ben Arfa?
-
Really, Dave? He got what, 15 minutes or so? All I saw of him was his motoring up and down the wing as usual. What I meant by saying his attitude is spot on is that ever since he first came here he has said all the right things, has played with great effort and commitment, has never caused a sniff of bother; basically, he's been a model pro. A world away from so many of the lackadaisical foreign (and British) players we have had in the past.
-
Listen up, the guy is class; his attitude is spot on, he loves the club, he is exciting to watch, he will run through a brick wall for the team and for the above facts I will always love watching him play. Sure he doesn't produce as much end product as we all would like but that's life and probably something to do with him playing on the left. He would get in my Newcastle team every single day of the week.

Taking into account the fact that I'd like to see us win a trophy before I die; after careful consideration, I say....yes.

Never, ever a pen like. Not never.

Newcastle fans "Thats why we're Champions!!" :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug:

never a pen in a million years
