  1. I agree, his eyes were yellow and he didn't look well at all. Get well soon. ?
  2. Watching this on the telly I was enjoying the brilliant atmosphere and then just as Martin Tyler started talking they turned the crowd noise right down to almost nothing. Even though it was bouncing and they kept going on about it, it sounded dead on the telly.
  3. Never have I been so happy and buzzing about picking the dog shite up and jet washing the back yard before the game. It is amazing what this club can do to you!

    Kevin Keegan

I want a statue of this man and I want him front and centre in an advisory roll at the club. He needs to be welcomed back with open arms for being the absolute hero that he is and nothing short of that will suffice.
  5. Of course i do. Born in Glasgow and brought up in Newcastle and is very much a Geordie. Can think of at least 5 of his songs which reference Newcastle the Tyne and surrounding areas like Whitley Bay, Cullercoats etc. Tunnel of Love, Sailing to Philadelphia, Why Aye Man and Southbound again which is about leaving Newcaslte by train. Down to the Waterline imagines the Quayside. There is a good YouTube clip of him and Brian Johnson back in Newcastle a couple of years ago.
  6. Fuckin hell, catchment areas! feels like a discussion from 1998! ? But its not just Newcastle though is it? Gateshead and the rest of Tyneside is about 890k iirc. Tyne and Wear is about 1.2 million. Then add Northumberland and County Durham. Shared between 2 clubs.
  7. 70k at the very least? That's optimistic.
  8. Some Mark Knopfler Geordie magic that's what it is. I know it was written for a film set in Scotland but it just connects so well with NUFC and the local area. How anyone cannot get it is beyond me.
  9. I wonder what crowd a consistently successful Newcastle could attract? It's clear over 10k fans have walked away including myself and all my mates yet we still get 40 odd thousand. 60 to 65k is a good shout but even then cup and European games would probably see thousands of empty seats. But who knows what effect success could have. There could be another 15k casual fans on top who suddenly want to start going once we are on a roll. So, I don't know It's a bit of mystery.
  10. These lads were the only thing that gave me any kind of pride and hope in the club in the last few years. They were the embers that convinced me that the club wasn't completely dead. You deserve everything you get. ?
  11. Still can't believe this has happened. Nearly a week later I have to pinch myself. Is this real life????!

    Sunderland

Saw a talksport bit with Ambrose and bent and he said will Sunderland ever finish above Newcastle again? Bent was like yeah of course they will, in our lifetimes then someone off screen chimed in with "not for the next 400 years!" ?
  13. Why would they wait till now to buy Inter? Could have done it anytime.
  14. Still on cloud 9 is this real life?
  15. Just for the little un mainly.
  16. Feels insane actually looking at getting a shirt again and kits for my kid and other merch. Been literally ten years. When does Ashley's grip on merch officially end or has it already? Would hate to splash the cash straight into his pocket.

    Sunderland

Mackems at work severely rattled. Sneaked up on a pair of them on Friday and over heard them saying " stupid cunts think they are going to win the league next year etc etc." They then saw me and I just beamed at them. ? I love how they just make up what they think we believe and to them that's enough for it to be the gospel truth.
  18. Aye love being on the train when you cross the Tyne and people are gawping out the windows unexpectedly in awe and telling others to look.
  19. Just spoke very well about what the takeover means and how excited he is and how the club is such a key part of being a Geordie.
  20. Thanks lads for the local hero vids!
