Priced himself out of move to Arsenal (by all reports), and now this. Lad has talent and should, should be thinking of his career and finding club to expose his talents (Arsenal would have fit the bill for me). QPR, well it's in London, seems to matter still, and presumably his contract has a bit to run?? Will be amazed, amazed if he even gets close to signing on for us.............loan apart..............possibly.

And it's beginning to show big time in a squad of dissparate players, some good, some average, a couple rank, but the one thing missing is a cohesive plan or strategy in formulating a team. Buy em cheap, stack em high, sell, sell, sell. SD as a football club.

Can personally think of a few more, holocaust, world wars, slave trade, spanish inquisition, current plight of middle east but hey whatever gets your goat mate. As for Stifler, why would the guy, a respected poster on here, OK then a psoster on here, tell porkies. Lad is alright in my book.
-
we needed one anyway, now we need 2. Agree. This seems ludicrous unless we have a signing or loan to replace him lined up. Lad hasn't been given much of a chance, certainly not in comparison to Taylor, who has not developed one jot since he first played for us and appears to have the brains of an overipe cucumber. Williamson, who despite being a loyal and steady kind of guy is just not good enough for our supposed 'level' and I am not overly convinced by some of the 'youngsters': Good is 21 now and needs regular games imo (not convinced of him at EPL level), Satka seems to be the one they are pinning major hopes on, but to have hm as one of 4 choices for CB for this season would seem brave or daft, unless he is as good as they seem to think? Had hoped it would be MYM/Colo and 2 new Cbs vying for the spots, gawd Taylor/Williamson/Colo and one of the bairns..jeezo...

So our outgoings match (there or thereabouts) our incomings? if so I would also be a tad suprised if we 'spend' anything substantial. I expect a loan for a striker if i'm honest, with an option to buy tagged on again. They can't expect wht we have up front to be enough..surely?

Very good post Kanji. This with knobs on for me as well. Truly gutting to see them have the courage to appoint a manager with such vision and who approaches the game with such verve and vigour. Never been the biggest fan of them, from the 70s onwards really, but you have to admit they look to have got this one spot on. Biggest issue will be retaining his services, one more good season and the 'real big boys' may come a courting.

http://onbarrackroad.com/ Absolutely spot on and I can't take anyone who thinks differently seriously. Top stuff from Wullie again imo. Sums up my feelings exacty.

Cracking 1st half (for WC final).... Come on the Jormans.....Pick up the pace down the right hand side and they can get in time and time again, as Mr Hansen may say.
-
Way I see it as well.... barring a very odd collapse of form and Messi being awesome. 3-0 or 4-1 for me. Just hope its not as drab and dire as 90..gawd that was awful.

Ditto. Quite narked by this sale in particular.

Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
George Bailey replied to Dave's topic in Football
Absolutley agree KI. Playing the game to creat, excite, the' positives' will always be seen as the most important aspects. I doubt many would pay to go and see Redondo (wonderful player imo), or Stielke but they will queue to see Messi, Platini (assumed it didn't need said Incognito LOL), Ronaldo etc, and rightly so. The modern game, with back pass rule, less 'tackling' has to be taken into context as well, agree 100%. the fact that these players shone when being kicked lumps out of is testament to how good they truly where. As for the Senna/Scumacher thing then imo yes. Just my principles and standpoint, don't expect to be in the majority, but conduct and how you approach the game/sport is massive for me. i think you should respect the sport, play the game to the full limits of the rules and also the spirit of the rules. Bradman, Gavaskar, Laver, Nicklaus, greats of their sport. May have played hard, may have been ruthless, but all within the spirit of the game. it's like the Suarez thing for me. a very, very gifted and talented footballer, in the top 10 of the worlds strikers at the moment, but................. biting someone. Really! 3 times!. Then the fact he and his captain etc didn't get it. "these things happen on the pitch" attitude....no they don't. Mis timed tackles yes, part and parcel of the sport. Heat of the moment poor decisions, okay to an extent. Deliberate acts of violence or cheating? give me a break. Hence Suarez will be rememberd by me as a reprehensible, vile cheat. Just as the fat, hand balling, drug addled cheat will, sadly cos he was a wonderful footballer. -
Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
George Bailey replied to Dave's topic in Football
Would agree from a certain perspective, though what always peevs me re this debate is how defensive players, or less 'creative' players are always left out or at best an after thought. For me the greatest footballer of all time is Beckenbaeur. The manner of his play, his leadership, what he gave to his sides marks him above (just) the others. Breitner, Lahm, Moore, Baresi, Maldini, Cannavarro All true greats but rarely get a mention as individuals. Pele, Cruyff, Messi,Platini,Di Stefano, Best, Ronaldo all magnificent creative and exciting players, and to some degree imo the debate is a fatuous one. Creativity and forward play v defensive play, which is just as vital to a team. I adored the 82 side of Brazil, Zico et al where stunning, but they won nowt. France of the 80s with Tigana, Giressse etc played a great brand and simply entertained as well. The Dutch side of 88 won and played a great brand. Do you have to be one of the forwards to be in the top ten? Also to be a great, or considered one of the best do you have to have played at the highest level internationally? if so bye bye Best, Di Stefano. Probably I would say, to have tested yourself at the highest level. As for Maradona, well its churlish to question his inclusion on footballing grounds...or is it? Whatwever discretions he had, drug abuse, and who's to say that wasn't prior to 94? On the field he produced magic, but on the field he also deliberatley cheated and lied about cheating. To be a great it's about the full package for me. Being true and honest to the sport you represent. You may have the talent you may have the titles or accolades but if they are tainted by cheating (Armstrong etc), or sullied by on field and off field actions then a question mark hangs over you imo. Maradona should not have been on the field to score that wonder goal. One of the best individual goals I have ever seen, but he should have been sent off for deliberate cheating before it ever happened. Thats why for me he is poison and despite his 'great' play his reputation is blackened. Just as Henry's is, he knew, he lied and he cheated. They both cheated the sport they professionally represented. That discounts them as being considered the greatest ever imo. Messi is alraedy up there amongst the Ronaldo's, Cruyff's and Pele's for me and if he wins it with a fairly average side then his status will surely be confirmed. -
Dutch all day. May. or will be closer then last nights ass whipping but they have far too much for the Argentina side for me.
-
Germans...not withstanding referee, and FIFA.
-
RIP True great of the game.
-
Can easily see you having too much for Argentina. Finalists for me v Germany....refereeing decisons and FIFAs 'dream wishes' not withstanding.
-
Agreed. Good saves, went the right way for all of them, but antics left bitter taste for me as well. He may well be called on again against Argentina imo. As for his future, we shall see but I have my doubts we will see him again for us.
-
Even if it does, you can always go with plan B. http://i.imgur.com/MFUhxtx.png Come on Costa fucking Rica!!!
-
Hope Belgium step up here Been a bit disappointing, even with the victories for me. They should be a pulsating side with all that talent....
-
Saw that this morning, fucking huge thing!! He ran back kissing his arm, after the penalty and that thing was clinging to him  He didn't seem to mind or even notice...top lad wor Jimmy.
-
He will die of something one day, then he will have died of something

Fair point. I certainly wouldn't say they are 'just a bunch of hackers', clearly they have some quality. The fact that someone as abjectly ordinary as Fred can get a run of games, with Jo being the alternative speaks volumes for me. Neither fit to wear the shirt imo. Must be tough for them in many ways, comparisons always being drawn, but that's part of Brazils legacy. For a while they were the worlds side in many ways, an aspiration, much like Kinnear and Pardews Newcastle. I agree that for years Brazil have been a shadow of the 70 and 82 sides, maybe they will never reach that again tbh. Thing for me is that the greatest side/team I ever saw was the 72/74/76 German sides, they were my icons...and I find it hard to say that the Spain side of 08/10/12 did what they didn't in terms of winning....and with a style eclipsing the Germans. So the poor Brazilian lads are on a bit of a hiding when held up to Zico, Eder, Rivalinho, Pele et al... Just wish they would play a bit more, cos they have the players who can imo....
-
Not often I read anything by Neil and disagree. This Brazil side are a pale shadow and they have employed some very aggressive and dirty tactics (classic Scolari). Fernhandinho in particular, but not him alone. Think Vickery is spot on when he says they no longer win with flow and rhythm, but with moments. I don't even see them playing that way, haven't for ages tbh. Yeah Neymar is decent and if given a freerer reign the likes of Oscar and even Hulk could contribute to a much more attractive style. For me that's what has been impressive about Colombia,Costa Rica France, Chile, hell even Australia and the USA, during the tournament. Fast, attractive. open football. Not hyperbole to say this is a poor side, with very dubious qualities and a strong arm approach imo...Playing like the Dutch of the last wc final. (fucking hate the Dutch, which is my irrational thing ) Would have loved France, Colombia, Costa Rica to have made it..
-
Germay will piss all over this utter garbage of a Brazil side..imo What the fuck does Fred actually do? Utterly inept at this level. They are a 'clattering' midfield, no particular flare anywhere (Neymar apart), sentiment and long lost memories always sem to cloud the issue when it comes to Brazil. If Colombia had shown more belief, not been kicked lumps out of by Fernadinho et al, the ref had shown some early cards they could have beaten this lot. Germay v Holland final for me. Germans winning, cos they know how to.

In...............a...........fucking..............nutshell. Utter morons from owner to maanger to boardroom level. Clueless, morally bankrupt cretins. Sickening sale for a pittance if it goes ahead. One of the Taylors as rb.....ugh.
