  1. I'm sure Belhanda only had a year left on his contract though. How long does Cabella have left on his ?
  2. I wonder if he'll find his goalscoring touch at QPR when we swap him for Remy haha. http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/football-transfer-window/36155-newcastle-magpies-weigh-up-cisse-remy-swap.php#.Uo4cGCfU4lM Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is weighing up a swap deal that would see Papiss Cisse move to Queens Park Rangers in exchange for the permanent signing of Loic Remy. Remy, currently on a season-long loan at St James' Park from the Championship outfit, has impressed in his brief time with the Magpies so far, and the club are desperate to make his loan move permanent. It had been reported that QPR were ready to increase their asking price for the prolific French striker, though SportsDirect News has learned that Newcastle hope to lower the fee by offloading the misfiring Cisse as part of the deal. The Senegalese forward has not yet scored in ten Premier League appearances this term, and has struggled to keep up the fine form he showed in his early days at the club. Remy, in contrast, has an impressive 7 goals in 9 games, and Pardew will be keen to fight off other sides for his signature as he continues to impress.
  3. Peter Beardsley without a doubt for me. My parents moved to Carlisle before I was born so my first football match was down at Brunton Park in the late 70's. Even as a kid with very little football knowledge Pedro by far stood out from the rest. I was gutted when Carlisle sold him to Vancouver Whitecaps but was over the moon when we he signed for us a year later.
  4. According to Sky Sources Norwich have agreed a fee with Celtic for Gary Hooper who will be travelling there for a medical today. Sickener for that droopy old fook if it's true haha. The way he was talking yesterday you'd have thought Hooper had signed already.

I thought Remys release clause was £6.8m, so we value Tayls at less than £1m lol ? Why does these papers post so much shite ? Last week we were prepared to pay £6.5m for Kone who had a £5m release clause. You'd think they'd get the f*ckin' facts right before printing such garbage.
  6. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not, so apologies in advance if it has. When I was on the phone to Sky today they told me that in light of this being free for BT Broadband subscribers Sky are offering offering reductions on peoples subscriptions to encourage them not to jump ship. I was offered free phone line rental, usually £14.50 per month, for a year with no obligation to take on BT Sports when ESPN goes down on July 31st.

He's as good if not better than anything we've got, would make an improvement on the starting 11 and if he is available on a free or a knock down price then we'd be daft not to be interested. We obviously seen something in him before he went to QPR and since he's been there he's scored 4 times in 6 appearances and looked decent in a struggling team in our league. To many people are far to quick to put sentimentality before reality & if the stories are true he knocked them back 3 times in favour of us before accepting an offer that was to good to turn down. If he did turn down there 30k more a week offer to come to us then that imo shows he no mercenary, but to knock back double what we were offering and a get out of jail free card would have shown him to be an idiot. He has zero connection or affinity to us and playing football is his job, how many people would turn down double wages and release clause in his situation ? I'd only mark him down as a mercenary if he was going somewhere he had little chance of being in the starting 11 every week and was prepared to warm the bench for his money. That was hardly gonna be the case at QPR.
  8. Release clause is around 19m but they are well over 100m in debt and need to sell.

I'd certainly have him for nowt at the end of the season if they go down. Don't know if their is any truth in it or not but a QPR supporter told me that Remy knocked them back twice in favour of us before finally agreeing to join them at the 3rd attempt. Apparently the 1st time they offered him 10k per week more than we were & the 2nd time 20k. It wasn't until they offered almost double and with a get out of jail free card that he snubbed us. Although I'm still pissed off about it, if any of that is true, he didn't just spurn us as soon as they offered an extra couple of quid and was more than happy to get 20 grand a week less to play for us over them. I'd also like to think they've shot themselves in the foot in signing Remy. Their recent run of good results coincided with them playing 451, Taarabt playing as lone striker making them a lot more solid than they had been. On Saturday they switched back to 442 to accommodate Remy and they were lucky to come away with a point because West Ham battered them.

He was more than interested until they doubled our wage offer.

You sure that wasn't Skys old footage of him arriving in England to speak to Stoke ? He was certainly wearing that same Varsity jacket when I seen him on SSN at that time and also seemed to be a lot of leaves on trees in the background of the clip I've just seen.
  13. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2261075/Sunderland-close-Moussa-Sissoko-Newcastle-target-Jores-Okore.html Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is close to signing French star Moussa Sissoko, 23, in a £3.5million deal. The midfielder is being made available by his club Toulouse as his contract is up in the summer and they don't want to miss out on a fee. O'Neill, who is still keen on Swansea striker Danny Graham, will make an offer next week. Newcastle, meanwhile, have added Manchester United target Jores Okore, 20, to their list of potential signings. The Danish international defender is available for around £5m and impressed for Nordsjaelland in the Champions League this season.
  14. You have no idea how much I hope that is the case.
  15. http://www.nufcfans.co.uk/he-has-no-choice-debuchy-must-accept-lille-stay/ Lille defender Mathieu Debuchy played 70 minutes in Lille’s pre-season friendly against Rennes tonight, and afterwards the Newcastle target was once again told he’s not going anywhere. After the match, Lille boss Rudi Garcia said: “Mathieu was good. It was important to play 70 minutes for him. “He will have to digest the fact that the club does not want to release him and he has no choice in the matter. “It is important that he does well for us, for himself and for the France team.” Alan Pardew has already said the transfer is out of his hands in a way and Debuchy himself is yet to meet president Michel Seydoux.
  16. http://images.littlewoods.com/is/image/Littlewoods/A222P_SP004_50_JG1J4?wid=1200&hei=1600 Not a new shirt but didn't know where else to put this. Noticed quite a few folk on here buying various France tops & I've just seen this on Very website. £13.00 instead of £42, might be of interest to someone. Sorry for the pic size
  17. Jaccob Butterfield has signed for Norwich.
  18. If Toivonen is cheap enough and is brought in to be played as an attacking midfielder then I'd be quite happy with that. It would at least indicate that Pardew intends to go with 433 next season. If he's being brought in as part of the front 3 then no thanks.
  19. Everyones favourite twitter gobshite probably put the kiss of death on this ever happening when he tweeted yesterday morning that Debuchy has already signed for £6.5m but it won't be announced until after Ligue 1 finishes next week.
  20. I'm sure the Sigurdsson rumours have started from this that appeared on Newsnow yesterday morning with a headline insinuating that we are interested in singing him. When you read the shitty article it says nothing of the sort. http://www.nufcblog.com/2012/04/17/is-this-goal-scoring-icelandic-midfielder-on-newcastles-radar/
  21. No way have we bid £3m for him a week ago if they've accepted £2.5m from Wigan now.
  22. Definetly think 3 in midfield is the way to go to bring out the best in Cabaye. I could be wrong, because I know very little about French football, but didn't Lille play with 3 in the middle when he was there ? He's a foreigner playing in a new league, a better, more competitive and far quicker league than he's used to, and for a mid table team when he's just left the champions.
