I’ve never ever given a single fuck about this spunky competition and I can’t pretend I do so now. It’s a lower league cup and always will be, including youth teams from the big clubs doesn’t change it either. It’s an U23 fixture. For us.

I’d argue the opposite to be honest. Rafa is paid a lot of money but whilst he’s in the dugout then the squad, regardless of how poor they are, stands a decent chance of survival. He’s simply that good. An extra £3m a year to Rafa or an extra £30m or so on better players under an inferior manager? Rafa is worth his weight in gold to a cunt like Ashley.

The only thing I’m certain of is that Ashley is acting in the best interests of himself. He’s gone public with this bullshit because it benefits him, no other reason. He’s proven time and again he lies and lies and lies without even flinching, he’s capable of saying anything if he thinks it’ll act in his favour and he’ll never change. He’s a selfish cunt at the end of the day and has never, ever given a fuck about the club. He’ll do and say what’s best for himself and always will do.

Getting the distinct impression that they’re fighting an unwinnable war. I feared as much and having sat in and around these people over the last 10 years or so. Every story I hear about those wanting change being given shit I can picture in my minds eye quite easily. There is clearly no willing from the rank and file, ‘average’ fan to protest, those that are doing so are firmly in the minority. It needs to get worse before it then gets absolutely horrific and only then will the mood swing back towards protests. They’ve made the odd fuck up but by and large done nothing wrong, it’s not their fault and I’m not going to criticise but they’re on a hiding to nothing. Their biggest hurdle is their fellow fans and that’s fucking heartbreaking to be brutally honest. To seek change, to strive for better only to be shot down, slagged off and abused by their own is the biggest kick in the teeth i can imagine. We’re utterly fucked.

People can cut it how they like but those words are a huge blow to the protest campaign. Honestly thought he had a bit more about him and would be a bit more diplomatic but obviously not. Firmly believe this has come from the agent to make sure Lascelles is protected and can move on once we're relegated (this season or next, it's happening soon). Also could be spun by Ashley and Bishop to be a positive move but he's going no-one. They're quite happy to ensure a biggish fee when we drop to pay for the promotion push, the cycle is just continuing.

They know he won't sign it but it looks, to the neutral, like they're trying to be reasonable. They'll use the fact he refused to sign against him in the summer too. All part of the plan to deal with the backlash of Rafa leaving and/or relegation in May. Failure on this scale doesn't just plan itself, got to look ahead and predict how and when we're going to crash and burn, it's a fine art.

I’d love to sit these people down and ask them what they’re getting out of supporting this club at the minute. I get the loyalty thing, it’s been done to death, but at what point do they walk away? How much shitter does it have to get? Where would they draw the line and just stop ploughing money directly into Ashley’s pockets? Because that’s where it’s going, it’s certainly not being spent anywhere else. At some point these people need to figure it out that their attendance is basically a tacit endorsement of the way this stinking fucking circus is being run. Not only do they mindlessly attend regardless of what he does but he sits there fucking laughing and grinning at them. With virtually no audible protests as to what he’s doing. He’s fucked the club, I think they know it, and they still do it. He’s neglected the squad, he’s repeatedly shafted and lied to our manager, he’s let the stadium fall into complete disrepair, he’s sold off valuable land for his own personal gain, he’s using the club primarily to advertise his fucking jumble sale of a shop, he’s deluded to think training facilities are adequate and so on. The list is endless. Rapidly thinking that only a sustained period out of the PL is the way ahead. Even then the spiteful fat cunt is evil enough to just let his own asset rot imo. Talks of boycotts for individual games is neither here nor there tbh. Fate was sealed as soon as they made it clear that they prioritised making a much money as possible in the summer as opposed to pushing it forward. The dominoes have toppled very predictably and the cash will be given to the next boss to get us promoted. We know how this will pan out.

Teams that don't score go down. That's exactly what we are and that's exactly what will happen imo, it's looking inevitable.
