    Loïc Remy

We never held his registration and he was never 'our' player. We borrowed his services for a year which was beneficial for all parties concerned. Not saying Remy acted well but I can understand where he's coming from. There was nothing to be gained in playing that match for NUFC as far as he was concerned and his priority became staying fit for the World Cup. Why should he give a fuck about a meaningless match?
  2. This is true. I assume the Nigerians thought a neutral venue in London was a better bet and they're probably right tbh.
  3. Isn't Hampden Park closed for a bit? Sure they played the cup final at Parkhead.
  4. The daft thing is that if the deliberate plan of holding positions and being defensively minded simply isn't working anyway. We concede goals hand over fist even though they're all told to hold their shape, get behind the ball and track men back. Had it been successful and we kept loads of clean sheet then there would be some merit to it but it's the worst of both worlds and has been for ages. We don't attack with any purpose or intent and can't keep them out at the other end too. And none of that is anything whatsoever to do with Ashley, this is squarely Pardew's fault and responsibility. We look shit and it's 100% down to him and his mismanagement of his squad.
  5. If I saw him out in the open I'd smack the smarmy cunt into next Friday. He's fucking abhorrent.
  6. It's an exact parody of the thing we did. The fucking cunt. Has he forgotten how the entire home crowd kept him rooted to his bench such was his unpopularity? Has he forgotten how we singularly collapsed for an entire half-season? Has he forgotten how he ensured we lost 3 derbies off the bounce for the first time in about half a century? Has he forgotten how he managed to lose 6 PL games for the first time in decades? What an repulsive fucking piece of shit he is.
  7. Perfectly happy to go with Armstrong until Cisse's kneecap mends. Don't need more than 2 anyway. 'Squad'. Pffftt.
  8. Can sort you out with another 6 of those chap.
  9. Struggling to recall anything he actually did. Each appearance was instantly forgettable.
  10. Didn't Chelsea sell Mata for the exact amount they needed to avoid punishment under FFP too?

Once he signs for a proper football club he'll do exceptionally well for himself. He's a very good striker who clearly wants to fulfil his potential, fair play to him. No axe to grind, he was only ever going to be here for a year, he's ambitious and thus we never stood a chance of signing him permanently.

    Shola Ameobi

Absolutely majestic thread title. Been too long in coming, not Shola's fault he's managed to con so many managers into persevering and I've got no doubt he's a 'good lad' but as a professional footballer he's been pigshit for years now. Won't miss him in the slightest.
  13. I think it was pretty much nailed on before Sunderland did the great escape, with the contract situation you can understand why we'd be keen. He's okay technically from what I've seen, but lacks pace for a top club. I'm not sure where he'd fit into our side though. The Cabaye role obviously. Even Cabaye didn't fit into the Cabaye role he was given at our club. What was it exactly, the 3rd defensive midfielder after Tiote and Anita? Quarterback. Pinging long passes to the lone striker marked by two defenders doesn't work out so well in the English version of the game. It's the role he was given. Not my idea mate. He was initially signed to control possession and the tempo of a game iirc. Feed him the ball as much as possible and let him dictate play - that was the plan that was sold to Cabaye.

  15. Only problem with the new Barca kit (being really picky too) is the cuffs aren't the same colour all the way around. Either colour would have been good had they continued it for the back of the cuff too. To switch it halfway around seems daft. #gokwan
  16. The tone and feel of the forum always reflects what's happening on the field. People are very fucked off and want/need to voice their anger/concern/criticisms on here as it's a message board. The Logout button's not hard to find if anyone is that sick of reading other people's opinions and that's always been the case. Ignore it and continue to scroll down or hit the button. Can't see the general mood changing much though...
  17. Being good trumps nationality every single time. Not arsed about where he was born, who he's played for or how many fingers he's stuck up in a random twitter picture. I'm arsed because I believe him to be deeply average and yet another player signed because he's going cheap/free and he'll fill a gap. May as well have kept Perch ffs.

    Remy Cabella

Fairly sure a bid was made, safe in the knowledge it was so low that it was never going to be accepted. That way they got to claim they'd made a 'substantial bid' in an effort to con the fans into thinking we were serious. They're good at that.
