    St James' Park

Flogging popcorn at cinemas is the biggest mark-up iirc.

    St James' Park

Has that actually been confirmed btw?
  3. That's about as comfortable a game as you're going to get in this competition. Bordeaux were really poor, not sure if that was a scratch side for them but they lacked quality all over the park. Once the first went in I never thought they looked like getting back into it.

There's got to be one of them mackem meme thingies for that quote. 'INVEST IN AFRICA'? CHARITEE STARTS AT 'OME MARRA.
  5. Shearer maybe takes a chance? I'd be astonished if Shearer walked into that particular shitstorm tbh. The people running that football club are f***ing clueless. He has previous of doing exactly that. And how keen do you think he is about doing it again?

  7. Could easily envisage them going into a bit of a tailspin after this. If I was a Blackburn fan I wouldn't trust the owners to attract anyone better tbh.
  8. The arsehole phoned Mike Riley. Five games into the season and he's ringing the Head of referees to have a moan about some decisions. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/8114086/Decisions-go-against-us-says-Brendan-Rodgers-as-Liverpool-boss-speaks-to-referees- Decisions go against us says Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool boss speaks to referees' chief Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken to referees' chief Mike Riley about decisions going against his team. The Reds boss feels his side, who are yet to win in the Premier League this season, have been on the end of a number of unfair decisions over the opening weeks of the campaign. Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield saw Jonjo Shelvey sent off, while a penalty was also given against Liverpoolbut they were denied their own when Luis Suarez went down in the area. Rodgers was also unhappy with some of the decisions in Wednesday's 2-1 Capital One Cup win at West Brom and says he has contacted Riley to voice his frustration. He told Sky Sports: "The opening period of this season, we haven't had any rub of the green whatsoever from officials. "I rang Mike Riley this morning. I think he was actually expecting me to comment a bit earlier. "I just said to Mike, we have to be careful that we don't discourage people and players who are trying to respect the game. We want to win the game but we want to win it by fair means." The manager added: "The players have been outstanding in their work. But us being a sporting team and going by the letters of the law and the rules, it just seems to pass us by in terms of decisions. "We've had a few sendings-off, a few penalties given against us and absolutely nothing that we've been given at all." So there is no rules, a manager can give any ref a bell and discuss any decision he didn't get, surely that should be against the rules?? Imagine the phonecall. BR: Hi, would it be possible to speak to Mike Riley please?................It's Brendan..................Rodgers. Brendan Rodgers......................Brendan Rodgers..............Liverpool...........Yeah got the job in the summer............cheers, thanks. MR: Hi Brendan what can I do for you? BR: I don't think your referees have been particularly fair to us this season. We've had a few reds an... MR: Are you questioning the integrity of my referees? BR: No, no, no not at... MR: OK, no bother then. Nice speaking to you. Goodbye.

  10. Not content with leading his club to their worst start for a century he's now on the phone to the Head of Referees complaining that he's not been getting 'the rub of the green' from refs so far. Basically he's admitting that he needs the refs to do him a favour in order to arrest the slump he's overseen. Starting to crack already, the fucking shithouse.

    Dan Gosling

Still not seen anything in him to suggest he's even playing in the right league. Just offers very, very little in the way of creating and/or scoring chances. He's a passenger.

    Papiss Cissé

He's going to put 3 or 4 past someone shortly. It's going to click and he'll gan ments.

Surely a straight red is more for dangerous/reckless which is 3 games Didn't get the edit in in time! Wasn't sure why he went but saw it on SSN as being for a Professional foul. If it's a reckless tackle as it appears then it's 3. My mistake.

It's for a professional foul (according to Sky) which, I think, is only 2 games.

    Papiss Cissé

Dropping him now is only going to dent his confidence even more imo. Needs an arm round the shoulder, show a bit of faith in him and let him play himself out of his little rut and into a bit of form. Benching him doesn't solve the problem. He needs a goal to get him up and running. I've seen enough of him already to know the quality is there. He's not turned into a shit player over the summer. It'll turn for him soon enough.
  16. Wasn't there some hassle centuries ago about shipping charges which ultimately ended in the Manchester ship canal being built? Sure I've read that there has been needle between Liverpool and Manchester long before organised football. Could have imagined it like.
  17. I'm sure, thanks to his agents, that most managers know the clause is there any way tbh. No need to mention it publically but the blokes making the big decisions know of it regardless.
  18. The club comes first at the end of the day. I'd expect him, as a professional footballer, to play out of position if it benefits the team. Wouldn't expect him to be too happy about doing it for an extended period in his defence and I've got no problem with him playing as CF with a point to prove and with a bit of grit and an edge as he did on Monday. Don't mind him being annoyed but keep it in private Demba, eh? If he's still twisting in 9 months time then I'd be tempted to move him on and get someone else in who plays for the badge on the front of the shirt rather than the name on the back of it.
  19. Either/or tbh. Just assumed Perch would be out for a bit after his knock against Atromitos.
  20. Hamstrings are normally just 4 weeks. Fingers crossed. No point whinging about it, just got to go with what we've got. Taylor and Williamson for 4 or 5 games and Coloccini back for mid-October (ish).
