I'll be in a better position to judge where we are at 10pm on Wednesday night. Huge week for NUFC coming up.
-
Well in van Persie.
-
What are the chances of us actually playing through midfield now the 'lump it to Carroll' option has been taken out of the equation? I know I'm clutching at straws a bit like.
-
Don't really agree with putting him straight back in and it's harsh on Krul but it's nothing to get too upset about. We'll just have to wait and see how it pans out.
-
Has Big Sam been seen in the crowd like?
-
Must admit I'm looking forward to seeing him out there in black and white. I'm not expecting much but if he can run and put himself about for 90 mins then he'll automatically be better than Smith and Guthrie. If he's actually got any football ability then it's a bonus.

All the very best for 2011 chaps. The club comes first.
-
I think if they can get shot of him permanently then they'll go for that as their Plan A. If no-one's willing to take him then they'll hawk him out on loan. They clearly don't see a future for him down there. especially as arry seems to want to bring in beckham (god knows why would screw up their sides balance) but as it stands they can't add a player due to their squad being full (woodgates not got a place in their side) so i consider it a strong possibility he'll be let out on loan towards windows end when it becomes very clear no one is willing to pay for him Someone (Dave?) hinted at that very plausible scenario happening.

Dead man walking. Shame, he was doing a fine job.
-
Aye, it's a bit odd that the official Celtic site has 'Attendance: Unknown' for all of their home games. Almost like they're ashamed of it or something...
-
West Ham is the more important game to win. Wouldn't him play til he was 100% fit regardless though.

Not sure Keane would be willing to sign for only 2 years though. At his age he'll be after one more big contract for about 4 years before he slips down the leagues and/or retires. We're not in a position to offer him that imo so it would be a loan deal or nothing and if Spurs aren't willing to do business then we should be looking elsewhere.

Think the City one was an impact injury on his ankle. IIRC. Yeah, the City one didn't look like the thigh injury that's ruled him out of Wigan. He seemed to run that one off eventually but when you put all your eggs in one basket...
-
When did he pick this thigh injury up?
-
Wouldn't want him here long term but he could is significantly better than Shola or Lovenkrands and could dovetail quite well with Carroll. Loan deal would be best to get us through til May then reassess the situation.
-
Carroll being out for this is a massive blow. Someone's going to have to step up and lead the line and try to fill Carroll's boots. I think he'll start with Ameobi with Nolan behind but when we concede on the hour he'll bring Ranger on and bring Jonas off. We'll scramble a late equaliser somehow and come away with a point.
-
Ljungberg at Celtic? That's an odd one.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be, unbelievably, even worse when Man Utd win their next title and overtake them. With a bit of luck.

And regardless of everyone's opinion of it, it goes completely against the current regime's apparent lack of wanting to talk in public about club issues. So he's making them look like liers....again. if the stuff abiout enrique was when he was asked if he'd be fit for wigan,, he replied he'd find out in his tweet.....that was a good reply and is being deliberatly made out as something more by people on here who are looking for sticks to throw. the ranger one is a bit different and only rangers reaction will say whether it was right or not. people ought to remember the documentary on bobby when all the players were eating and he was talking about players today, being particularly scatrhing about a player wanting the bus turned round to go back and get a diamond earring, his eyes never moved and he was looking at one player, thought to be dyer. as bad if not worse than pardew on ranger. I've got no axe to grind but I do think things like this should be kept away from the media as much as possible. The player, club and manager involved aren't important, it's a general opinion I hold about it. maybe the ranger bit but if the enrique bit is all that was then it was justa good retort. Possibly? A quiet word in Enrique's ear to ask him not to do it again would have done though. We'll see how the pair of them react to it.

Even if it doesn't work out for the lad here another club would give you £5m for him in a year or two. Virtually zero risk in that respect. I think he's made for the PL personally and it's a cracking signing.
-
No reason to go public with either situation. Managers should manage the players rather than go blabbing about it in the papers. My opinion obviously.

Been following football for about 25 years and this is the worst Liverpool side I've ever seen. Consistently shite, insipid, passionless football being played by blokes who either aren't good enough or couldn't give a fuck. It's fucking great.
