  1. Got no problem with any of that. But if a goal is conceded through lack of judgement or lack of agility/shot-stopping it doesn't make much difference - it's gone in. Krul's the future and Harper's the past.
  2. Was just saying this to the lads in the pub after the game. Can you explain what is meant by this please? One day you'll grow up. My point was in what way are we in any way comparable to that saying? ... was Midds not being sarcy...? Of course I was. And I've already explained it to the bloke.
  3. The first goal is totally down to Krul like. Should have put his foot through it and cleared his lines. To suggest anything else is just passing the buck. Still feel he's a better bet than Harper though. Said many times, Krul's going to get better and Harper's definitely not going to improve. Krul needs to keep the shirt unless he starts doing this on a regular basis.

  5. Our capacity to tolerate abuse is a millionfold greater than our willingness to do something about it. I'd agree with that in general. I just thought comparing NUFC to imperial Rome was a tad too much.

    Sunderland...

They did - a fucking good hiding by the look of it.
  8. City aren't shit like. They've not really clicked yet but are still in with a genuine shout at the title. They've ridden their luck at times (particularly in our first game) but they're full of quality players. They'll be there or thereabouts come May.
  9. Might be best to just lock this KI.
  10. Was clearly carrying an injury (looked like his right knee) for the last 25 mins of the game. Don't think it's too serious as he completed the game but could well have made it a bit worse by doing so. Very worrying though.
  11. I thought Tiote played quite well. Taylor was a bit sub-standard but nothing to whinge about. City made life easy for themselves by capitalising early and never really put us under sustained pressure simply because they didn't have to. The defence for the last 85 mins was fine.
  12. We aren't a good enough side to give teams like City a 2 goal headstart and expect to get something out of the game. We made 2 mistakes and they scored each time. We got away with it last season but they rightfully punished us for being sloppy. After that I think they (knowing they were playing again in 48 hours time) sat back safe in the knowledge that they'd already scored enough to win the game. 85 minutes of training ground football where they kept their shape, got men behind the ball and soaked it up whilst conserving energy for the upcoming games. We huffed and puffed and I can't fault our effort or commitment and enjoyed plenty of the ball but Hart barely had a shot to make tbh. Once we scored you could see City's attitude change as they were forced to come out and get a killer third goal. They pressed and the back 4 pushed 15 yards further up the park and clinched it. Not sure what the game proved that we didn't already know - City are better than us, we make individual mistakes and some of our lot aren't quite good enough. Our season doesn't hinge on taking points from City and the like and it's not the end of the world but we need to beat the poor teams and continue picking up the odd win away too. Spurs will be tough and I'm not expecting anything there either. West Ham is huge now.

    Chris Hughton

Lovely bloke. Very humble and magnanimous which is a very rare thing in the game in 2010. Deserves a crack at a job where his bosses aren't a pack of cunts.

    You're always on holiday. OI!

    Vuckic

Probably wouldn't throw him in against City's midfield quite so soon but he's got to be a better bet than Smith, Guthrie or Lovenkrands. They offer virtually nothing whereas Vuckic may offer something. He's definitely not going to improve by sitting on the bench though.

Wonder if he gets discount? Everyone does. Usually 70%.
  21. Onouha and Johnson would be 2 cracking signings for the filth it's got to be said. They should cost a bomb but they'll get they on the cheap which makes it all the more annoying.
