Realistically, for a LB with a year left on his contract it's a fair offer. He's a very good player and I hope he signs another deal but if he's going then £8m is a decent amount of wedge to replace him with. Then again if the scouse cunts can find 18m for the mackem then we should bleed the twats dry.

Keeping the quality players we already have could save him a bit of cash in the long run. The squad needs to be strengthened and supplemented, not dismantled. We've got a decent XI and adding 3 or 4 quality players whilst shifting the dead wood would be excellent.
