Some of them have been bullshit bookings mind, it has to be said. Yeah 14 is too many but the amount of ground he covers and the amount of tackles he makes is immense. He's going to mis-time some of them and I'd rather he was playing than not. He's absolutely fantastic at what he does and we're a far better team when he's in the middle of the park.

Nothing wrong with that really. Sure the guy makes mistakes, but you take away his mistakes and he's great. You take away mistakes from some goalkeepers and they're still worse than Gomes. EDIT: Let me just make clear, that he is a f***ing clown though And I'm the fool? Fucking hell, give me a break, trying to defend the indefensible. Stop trying then. You can't just 'take out' and ignore his many, many mistakes. They're the precise reason he's fucking shit. He makes mistakes which cost his team goals and games on a regular basis. The fact his team mates bail him out of the shit time and time again doesn't mean you can forget the fact that this fuckstick throws them in his own net.

We'll leave Stamford Bridge battered, bruised and bleeding from our collective anus. Shirts ripped and staggering back on the bus unable to sit down. 5-0. Torres 4, Drogba

He knew there were scouts in the crowd.

You told me he was great. Felipao definitely did! He's a s*** keeper. Never said he was great, so get the fuck out. What I said was that he's an inconsistent goalkeeper who when he plays well is really fucking good. I disagreed to calling him shit, and I still do, although I must admit it's getting a bit silly. But I rather have a goalkeeper who makes a mistake but saves the rest and only concedes one. Than one who doesn't make a mistake but concedes 5. To be fair he did make some saves which other goalkeeper wouldn't. And oh by the way, you're a fool He's shit. Complete liability for his team.

We're going to get dry humped next week whether he plays or not tbh. The damage that Chelsea could do in that game without Tiote to break a few attacks up is fucking frightening.

Fat fingers + moving bus = mistakes.

Newcastle United v Birmingham City Pre-match thread (07/05/2011 - 3pm KO)

Use sicko's thread please. -
If another thread isn't made then unlock this at kick off and we'll tidy it up later. On my phone atm.

I'd like to think they all want to finish as high as possible.

To preserve the Wembley pitch for the CL final? FA Cup final + the play-off finals is more than enough. Fair enough I suppose, seems a shame to rob those fans that get to the final. If it was AFC v Luton it could easily exceed the CoMS capacity at Wembley whereas Whitley Bay will be playing there infront of 80,000 spare seats. Wasn't being a dick btw. The pitch has barely be played on for months and it's going to host 3 games in 3 days plus the FA Cup final plus the Champions League final within a few weeks. It'll be like the fucking Somme unless some of the games are played elsewhere. No i know and I agree, just the problem with having pissed money away on Wembley and then after paying for it not having it as a dedicated football venue that it can't actually fulfil its role. Bingo. Should never have been built. Nearly a billion quid when the country already had several stadia capable of hosting big games. Criminal. That's another thread though.

Sounds like he's trying to bait them into a performance tbh. The "oh, my players have switched off. Not sure if they're up for it. Blah blah blah" shite might just spark a few of them.

Fair enough if he's been signed because he's a player who we'd want rather than a player who was available due to coming to the end of his contract. Would we have looked at him twice if his contract wasn't due for renewal at Everton? We'll never know why he was signed but I'd rather have Gosling in the squad than Smith. Gosling has something to offer, Smith doesn't .
-
Any sarcasm involved there mate?
-
If he's better than what's currently here (which, from what I've read and seen, he is) then I couldn't give a shit why he's been signed. We've got a load of dead wood picking a few hundred grand between them every week whilst contributing fuck all. They're the problem.
-
Doesn't look like he's been pushed in any way at all. You'd imagine he probably wanted to play some part. As soon as there is a problem it sounds like he decides how and where to deal with it. Wonder what the complication is. Must say i'd have liked him to stay here until the summer break. A bit worrying. My point is that playing again this season should never have even been on the agenda.
-
Quoting, just in case. He was only trusted with the last15 minutes last night with a 5 goal lead. He's a million miles away from the most important cub final in the world and rightly so.
-
don't know why he was even being pushed to play again this season. It should have been written off as soon as the break was diagnosed. Better to give it the long rest than rush him back for the sake of a game or two at the end of the season. Just take it easy and wait for pre-season would have been better.

These things happen and you can't legislate for them. No point twisting about it and we've just got to get on with it. Taylor will come in and have to raise his game.

Not sure if Abidal can get back up to speed quickly enough to make it at LB. But if Puyol is allowed to move back to CB with Pique then that's a massive boost for them.
