  1. Go along with that. Milan were better defensively but Barca are awesome going forward. Would have been a superb match.
  2. He had a great relationship with Newcastle fans Loved him fighting with Gary Bennett at Joker Park and ending up in the crowd....I went with my mate for an evening's Mackem bashing and almost ended up with Speedie on my lap.A very under rated player too.imo. Went with a couple of (mackem) mates from school (only about 12 at the time) and was about 10 yards from said incident.
  3. Always liked the Denmark one from '86. http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Denmark-86-Home.jpg
  4. Would he have been a better option on the right compared to Simpson, Lovenkrands or Ryan Taylor? No-one is disputing he's limited/not PL class but I refuse to believe he'd have been worse than those 3 who've all had a go there since Routledge left.
  5. Do you actually watch football? Not defending Gomes now because dear me that was a rookie mistake. But saying he's an awful keeper when he kept them in the tie against Milan and he has been the best player on the pitch several times. He's the most inconsistent keeper ever. He's like a rollercoaster, but calling him awful is harsh. A keeper always liable to make a mistake leading to a goal is awful. He's done it 4 times in the last 5 games. Exactly. If a goalkeeper makes so many mistakes as regularly as he does then he con't be classed as a good keeper. Good keepers are consistently good but this bloke's costing goals left, right and centre. Felipao's so blinkered when it comes to Brazilian players. But basically your telling me that Julio Cesar who was probably the best goalkeeper last season is an awful goalkeeper after his blunders against Bayern and Brazil in the world cup? Are you guys for real? This really has nothing to do with Gomes being Brazilian, but has to do with the fact that he's really not an awful goalkeeper. He won them the tie against Milan basically with some magical saves. And then when he f***s up he's an awful goalkeeper? Not saying he's the best goalkeeper around, but theres a reason behind why he starts for a team placed 5th in the Premier League and went out in the quarters of the Champions League, especially since the managers name isnt Arsene Wenger. I'm saying that if he's making mistakes regularly which is costing his team goals and games then he's an awful keeper. You've brought other keepers into it but I'm talking about Gomes. He's s*** in my opinion. He's s*** because he makes lots and lots of mistakes. He's got talent and has good games but the sheer volume of his mistakes undoes all of the good. He's got talent and good games but he's awful. Alright I get it. hater I've said that I think he's shit and I've explained why. If you don't agree then fair enough. I can't help you any more - take the Brazilian shades off mate.

  8. Awful keeper. Spurs have got some cracking players but he's a liability.
  9. "Over he 2 legs they were probably the better team" G. Bale Get it on his fucking tombstone. Fuck me.
  10. The World Cup Final is still the pinnacle imo. Always will be. It's the biggest stage, the biggest showcase and the tournament that defines the sport and the people who play it. If one player can lead/inspire his team-mates to win it despite being an inferior 'team' then he'll go down as a legend. Don't get me wrong, Messi is the most talented footballer on the planet at the minute and he's awesome. But to reach the elite of the sport he needs to produce it in the World Cup.
  11. It's make or break. See Baggio, R. 1994 Had Italy won that penalty shoot-out then he'd be on everyone's list. He dragged them to the Final then put one over the bar and they lost. Had they won it....
  12. Fair comment. Because of his nationality and physical stature he's always going to be compared to Maradona though. Maradona almost single-handedly dragged his country to a World Cup and unless Messi manages to do the same he'll always be seen, by some, as being slightly inferior to Maradona. Throw in the fact that Maradona took a massive gamble by signing for Napoli and won major trophies there too adds to his legacy. In short, he'll always walk in Maradona's shadow.

  14. Still expect to see Commodore on the front of their kits.
  15. Honestly, look at the sequence again, he not only put the breaks, he didn't even tackle him. Nani falls over before the contact. China man scores I watched it. It was stupid of Ramires and I'd expect a yellow to be shown for that all day long.
  16. Clattered into him from behind without winning the ball. Cast iron yellow every single time. Nani did make the most of it obviously but it was a yellow.
  17. If their players had started running through walls for Hodgson then they wouldn't have been as far adrift. The fact they're giving their all for Dalglish after the pathetic levels of effort and enthusiasm they put in for Woy is nothing short of a disgrace. Same players (on the whole) but they're simply trying now. They don't deserve European football.
  18. Lesson: Dont buy FourFourTwo, it's shite. Comedy 'journalism'. Little better than the likes of Match and Shoot these days. Shame as in its early years, it was a decent magazine. The standard of articles and research in World Soccer makes FourFourTwo look like a kids comic. Bingo. 100%.
