  1. Either way, he has to sign this summer or we have to sell him. Not particularly arsed if he stays or goes but he can't be allowed to walk away for nothing next year. That would be incompetence of the highest order on behalf of the fuckwits running the gaff atm.
  2. Change the red stripes to black and that could have been our shirt had we gone with Umbro.
  3. Great goal. Had loads of time and space obviously but he took it well.
  4. Jesus wept, man. How shit must Carlisle be if that useless knacker can score against them?
  5. Is it worth putting the latest score in the title? Does anyone care enough?
  6. The home one looks smart as fuck but the away and 3rd ones are dogshit.
  7. Shut down? You are having a laugh right? Simply buy a membership and thats it, if you go to 4 or more games it pays for itself, the majority will be ST anyway so arent affected 'Shut down' was the wrong choice of words tbh. He's making people jump through a few hoops to get back to where they were though. It'll certainly dilute that area of fans that were there and spread them out around the ground a bit though.
  8. Just passing comment that the most vocal anti-Ashley section of the ground is the very one he's, basically, shut down might not be a coincidence. (Not an Ashley fan btw, just passing comment)
  9. Who? The Chairman and owner? Aye.
  10. Who? The Chairman and owner?
  11. A Holland v Germany final would be tasty. Those two nations do not get on at all.
  12. Cracking header. Had to go looking for it and twist it in. Fantastic.
  13. to be fair we'll do that ina 4-4-2 anyway. Very true, unfortunately

    James Perch

Haven't seen a lot of Perch so it's difficult to say if he'll be a good signing or not. Seen enough of Simpson to know that after having been repeatedly bummed against the likes of Jerome Thomas to know that Perch definitely isn't any worse. Low fee, low risk, low wage (relatively), sell-on fee if it doesn't work out, can play in a few positions...etc. Very 'meh' all round.
  15. Don't see Ozil for Germany or Sneijder for Inter defending much... That's because Germany and Inter play the system well. You can defend from the front too you know.
  16. Playing 4-2-3-1 requires the 2-3 to be able to be a fluid and cohesive unit - defending when we don't have the ball and supporting the striker when attacking. Our shower of shite wouldn't be able to understand let alone play the system. They're just not up to it. We'd start banging long balls to Carroll who would lose it and the 4-2-3-1 would become a 4-5----1 and we'd get a hiding. It's a great idea in princple but our midfielders can't make it work effectively imo.
  17. Aye, well done. Good for you.
  18. When you do get one be sure to mention it it the materialism thread. And the mood thread. And in this thread. Obviously. Sorry about that. Why not ask your missus to stop mentioning your fucking kid in every thread, maybe I don't want to read about that? Cheers. Now that bite was worth waiting for! Wait til she sees this!
  19. I'd completely forgotten Best played for us until I read this thread.

    Luis Suárez

thats like saying the pro foul when in on goal last man type thing is. What I mean is the ref may not always be in a position to see if the shot is going in before it's handled. How can he award a goal for a shot which may or may not have been going in before it's handled? Last night it was obvious, tomorrow it might not be. It's a shit idea imo madras, sorry.

    Luis Suárez

Can't see how a ref can consistently decide every single time a handball has 'stopped' a goal. Sometimes it will be obvious and sometimes it won't. Last night it was obvious that Suarez prevented a goal but it won't be as clear every time. Penalty goals are inherently unfeasible imo, each incident is different.

    Luis Suárez

Should be the same punishment regardless of whether the penalty goes in or not and FIFA have not caved in and extended the ban so it's good news. It's a real shame Ghana didn't score the penalty but that's the way it works sometimes. Suarez did what he had to and he'll take the rap for it. Tough shit and let's get on with it.
  23. Stop fucking crying man you soft shite.
  24. the rules have constantly adapted to occasions like this. at one time the cross bar was a rope, there were no penalties,a newcastle player was so adept at catching players offsider that the rule was changed, at one time is was OK to kick players from behind. I've got no problem with rule changes that make it safer to play (tackle from behind) and make the game a better spectacle to watch (no backpasses/offside traps). I have got a problem with awarding goals when the ball hasn't crossed the line though.
