  1. Still think it's pretty ridiculous that the PL punishments are handed out after the judgement has already been made and no-one has a clue what they might be. There isn't a sanction league table for want of a better expression. Breach FFP by £5m? £2m fine Breach FFP by £50m? we'll take 5 points Breach FFP by £500m? we'll relegate you and ban you from re-entering the PL for 5 years etc No fucker knows where they stand or what punishment they'll get or whether it'll be consistent from club to club, they're making it up as they go along depending on which way the wind is blowing. The whole thing is a load of utter shit to benefit a tiny handful of established clubs who grew without any restrictions until they became so powerful they inserted this thick glass floor beneath them. The fact they then sold it as being 'fair' was the icing on the cake. The fact they then went ahead, signed the contracts to launch the ESL which would have destroyed the English footballing pyramid and got of with a poxy fine they fucking negotiated themselves speaks volumes as to how fair the PL actually is. Genuinely hope Everton challenge all of it and it all comes crashing down. I'll not hold my breath though
  2. Ferguson has been like an evil ghost looming over every single manager since he fucked off. I totally get why they loved the bloke but he's that constant reminder of how good they used to be. Every time they concede or lose a big game the camera seems to cut to him looking furious that the current team aren't as good or successful as he and his team used to be 15 years ago. Fans watching get the "we used to win games like that under him" and "this would have never happened under Fergie" etc is always there. He's a constant, visual benchmark that makes every other subsequent Man U manager look bad It's fucking brilliant
  3. Arteta went way over the top and I'm glad he's been pulled up about his little performance. I can totally understand managers being fucking livid about decisions and results but they're professionals and need to behave better than that given their positions in the game. Hope they throw the book at him. Doubt they will, it'll be a small fine or a 1 match touchline ban but he needs to take it with the grace he couldn't a fortnight ago, the little prick
  4. Arteta never actually got any charge at all from the FA for his meltdown, did he?

    Papiss Cissé

Still think it's probably the best brace I've ever seen. The first one gets overlooked because it wasn't as spectacular as the second but the first is still a worldie. Both unbelievable goals to pull out of the same night edit: Maybe Robert's 2 shitpingers vs Spurs possibly? It's close
  6. How much are people drinking if the hangover lasts 2 or 3 days? This is a wild and enlightening couple of pages tbph
  7. Cracker of a game. Wouldn't have gone 4-4 after a stale first 15 mins mind
  8. Why can't the ref have the option of having another look at it? Why can't the ref say "I think it's a pen but I'm coming over for another look to check" then he either gives it or corrects himself.
  9. No idea, but there's definitely really offensive ones and that's one of them. Not a huge deal but please don't use it again
  10. The second one. I just don't think there's any need to use that particular one
  11. Aaaaaahhhhh, choose better words, man. No need for that particular one
  12. Nothing worse than managers and fans hiding behind injuries as an excuse to explain and excuse bad performances and results. Yes, they're part of the context and reason but they're not the be all and end all. We played poorly tonight and Bournemouth were better, took their chances and deservedly won and I hope and expect to hear Howe come out and say so. We're a PL team with a PL squad and the team he picked tonight didn't do enough and it happens. We rarely lose to bottom half teams but we did tonight - Howe and all of us need to take it on the chin and own it.
  13. Before anyone properly kicks off, this likely defeat will be the first time we've lost to a bottom half team since March 2022 (Everton A). It's a blow obviously but it's not exactly a regular occurrence.
  14. Wish the commentators would stop banging on about the injuries. Yes we've got a few out but we're not playing with 9 or 10 men, we're a PL team starting with 11 PL players each game. Some of them are inexperienced but they're getting a chance to play and develop. It's not ideal but it's not a reason to hide behind either, you play the hand you're dealt.
  15. The goal itself is unlucky but they've deserved it on the balance of play tbh
  16. Almiron's doesn't look too serious. Hopefully it's just a precaution *gulps*
  17. Another top, top game in the Barclays
  18. I was originally referring to fans of all other clubs tbh. I'm sure Liverpool and Spurs want to limit us as much as possible and would have done so regardless of ownership but my post was mainly about our general unpopularity across the sport in general. We're now hated for 2 reasons - our wealth and the nature of the owners imo
  19. Suppose this is the issue when you get taken over by a set of people who are simultaneously the richest and worst on the planet I completely reject the idea that the hatred and roadblocks are purely because of the wealth of the owners. We're hated because we're owned by an essentially horrible regime. I totally understand why too, it's something we need to accept is going to happen
  20. Respectfully disagree. There are plenty of rich clubs that don't get rules changed to prevent them from spending their money. We do The nature and behaviour of the owners matters
  21. Don't need to stop at the rest of the PL tbh, I reckon the rest of the clubs in the country/continent despise us just as much. It's to be expected really, we all know that we're owned lock, stock and barrel by the Saudi regime. A regime that are seen as some of the worst people knocking about as far as human rights are concerned. It's no surprise that others want to throw as many spokes in our wheels as they can and I've already accepted it's going to happen at every turn. It's the rough we need to accept as well as the smooth, we can't have it both ways.
  22. Bruise if you're lucky. Ligaments or bones if you're not. Neither of them meant it but we've all seen seemingly innocuous fouls end in serious injuries, it can easily happen
