The only possible thing that I can think of that has even a remote chance of being correct in his brain is the fact he looked quickly and thought Grealish was offside. I know this wasn't the case but I think he panicked and brought it back because he thought Grealish was offside and if he let it go then City wouldn't have had any advantage and Spurs get the offside. He correctly let it go for 2 seconds saw the ball over the top, assumed he was off so brought it back so City at least got something from the situation rather than letting it go and having to call it offside thus giving City absolutely nothing. I know Grealish was onside but it's the only thing that may explain it at the time. Does look dodgy af mind

Daniel will be smiling tonight

The amount of huge games we've played in the last 4 months has been extraordinary like. I've got absolutely no fear of us going there and freezing or letting the occasion get to us, we'll have dealt with big atmospheres and I'm confident we'll go there and overpower them. I'm more concerned that the only way they'll be able to compete is to fly into tackles and keep their moron crowd involved in the tie. Nice early goal would be lush though

The Pope injury alone was 4 mins tbf. Then we had a few subs in the second half too, it was probably about right tbh

Loved that result and performance tonight, we were really really tight, bright and organised. We've noticeably changed how we play and are now willing to drop into a tight formation and just sit and defend at times. We rolled with a few punches and had a little luck with their disallowed goal, I felt it was coming a bit. Other than that we dominated them and attacked even in front, that wasn't a smash and grab by any stretch, we deserved those 3 points and we'll finish above this lot come May. Bruno, Trippier, Joelinton and Tino were superb. Miley looks like he's been playing PL football for years, Gordon was a bit off it but still notched, Schar and lascelles were also very very good. Only negative is Pope but it may not be a bad a we fear. Hugely proud of this team and squad, we were one dodgy decision away from sweeping Chelsea, PSG and Man U in a week with a full team of injured. The future is very very bright gentlemen

Selling Almiron and/or Murphy for anything north of £20m seems like a no-brainer to me. They're important squad members but cashing in now, when they're at their peak values, makes it a fairly easy decision. They'd both go with my thanks and best wishes but we need to replace them eventually and it would be huge FFP wiggle room to replace squad with new starters* * I know Almiron starts but he's the weakest of the best starting XI we have imo

You've GOT to see the keeper mistake in the St Pauli Hamburg game Hamburg keeper slices the ball into his own net from a yard out under zero pressure from any St Pauli player. Monumental fuck up

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
midds replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
Exactly. That's him down to a tee - maximum coin, minimum effort and accountability. Bet he's already earmarked how he'll spend his compensation lump from the next set of fucking mugs daft enough to employ the shithouse cunt -
https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/next-3-games.1620190/ They just can't help themselves. The arrogance they have for teams that are on a very similar level is unbelievable.

Cunt will be like prime Yashin on Saturday no doubt

Just need to learn to kick the ball at opponents hands and arms in future. Intent is out of the window. Deflections don't matter - if it hits any part of the arm it's a pen so just go for it. Contact = pen

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
midds replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
All we can do is try and beat Milan and see what happens after that. We've got no control over the other game and wouldn't rule any result out in Dortmund. Fact is if we win and PSG don't then we're through. We can only do so much. I'm just glad to be faced with these issues rather than being focused on the bottom 5 and worrying about relegation. Or, even worse, not giving a shit either way. This is much better -
This lad is superb. Just looks so much at ease with everything, he's got touch, 2 footed, reads the game well, passes a nice ball, excellent stamina - never stops, shows for the ball and plays his position too, he's disciplined. He looks an absolute gem of a player. Very very impressed by him this season

Love the bloke to bits but I think he could have made 3 changes tonight in the last 10 minutes to stop the play and break momentum and chose not to. Having kids on the bench is one thing but to their inexperience is irrelevant when the clock's on 91 mins etc. Subbing those 3 players on could have killed the play for 30 seconds or so at a time. Not saying it could have prevented the bullshit pen but it could also have panned out differently too
-
Spot on. The whole 'identity is out identity' needs to go out of the window for a few months until we get more bodies back. Shades of Rafa's organised and disciplined, hit them on the break team tonight and I think we'll see more of it too, especially away from home. All well and good flying in 100% knowing there's 9 on the bench who can come on and make a difference but at the minute then needs must.

To draw that game isn't bad at all, it's a decent result in the grand scheme of things. To draw it like that with an outrageous decision like that is canny sickening tbh. A draw was probably about right on the balance of play but the decision was utter bullshit. I'm still too angry to post properly but I'm still proud of every single one of the lads tonight, they gave their all and deserved better than they got. We went in there undercooked and had nothing in reserve and still dealt with them for 97 minutes. They worked their socks off and got robbed by a pigshit ref's decision. Up the fucking mags, let's just beat Milan and see what's what, fuck it

If you truly value your ability to post in the future on this site then I'd strongly suggest looking, and finding, said images

I've seen fabinho make the exact same foul about 40 times and only get booked a handful of times. Other players do it and it's an instant yellow, the whole thing is massively subjective and the refs can do what they wish as and when they decide. Getting consistency for fouls is impossible I'd say, they can't even be consistent in the same game ffs
