    PROMOTIONOMETER

who the fuck we gonna lose 5 games to in this shit? We're going to slip up from time to time. I reckon 100 points is achievable this season. I've said all along we should piss this league and I've seen nothing that should frighten us. 5 more wins and 2 draws from our last 7 games gives us the nice, round 100.
  2. I'd go along with that. I'd take Walcott to the WC because of his pace off the bench. I know he's had a poor season but he can unsettle teams and swing the momentum when brought on and used correctly. I'm being won over by Walcott. Barring injuries, I'm thinking of Rooney, Defoe, Bent, Crouch and Walcott (who can play both up top and wide). I couldn't justify picking Walcott and Agbonlahor in the squad unless there were a few injuries in the squad but Walcott has to go imo. Rooney, Defoe, Crouch, Bent, Walcott plus another 6 midfielders. You've both forgotten Heskey. I know he's a bit shit but he's also been integral to the best football I've ever seen England play. Even if you don't want him starting surely it's madness not to even take him so we have that formation / system as a plan B. Wasn't a prediction as to who will go, more who I would take tbh. Don't think Heskey has done enough for a while now to justify taking, but there you go.

  5. If I went to the game yesterday, I could make the same joke, in reverse. What do you mean, joke?
  6. Barca are playing some of the best football I've seen since Monday.
  7. Complete annihilation. Like total and utter destruction of their pathetic football team on the park followed by the obliteration their shitty village when we hear Forest have lost. That would be nice.
  8. They're a decent team to be fair and they pressed us and closed us down more than any other side I've seen up here this season. Always thought we'd score late on as they couldn't keep doing that all game and sure enough they tired. We're all but up and that is all that counts for now. Wonder if we can get 100 points?

    Sunderland...

the question midds is, will they still have bent + jones when they meet us- i have my doubts. Who knows? I can see Bent getting mightily pissed off soon though - especially if he doesn't go to the World Cup this summer. He's got 20 this season and Bruce sticks him out on the right to stem the tide when they're desperate for a goal to get a foothold in the game. That's got to play on his mind if he's got his feet up, watching Heskey or Crouch try to win the WC. Jones is a lazy arsehole from what I can gather.

    Sunderland...

They've already got enough points this season. I also think they would also turn us over if we were to play them, say, next weekend.
  11. Promotion is a stepping stone, not an end in itself. If Hughton is bowing to player power now we’ll be f***ed the next time the going gets tough. It's the only thing that matters for the time being. Hughton can deal with it after we're confirmed as being up. If that means selling one or the other, or both, then fair enough. If dropping Carroll for a game or two is going to us cost promotion when were ten points clear of third with 8 games to go, our position in the league must be a fluke. As always with Ashley’s NUFC we have no idea what is going on, but there was always going to be more to this than Taylor’s a c*** so everything is OK. I'm actually quite pleased that NUFC haven't commented on the incident. Sometimes saying nowt is the right decision. I hope it's dealt with 'in-house'. We've washed our dirty linen in public far too often under previous chairmen in the not-so-distant-past... Ignorance is bliss? I'd rather the club said nothing than revealed all of the gory details about what went on. I'd much rather we continued winning games with a settled side for the time being and did whatever needed to be done when it suited us rather than the media.

  14. i'll bet you a pint he has a full england cap before december 31st 2011. I'll have some of that.
  15. The club comes first. I've not got a problem with Hughton picking him whilst he's still doing the business. Promotion is the ultimate priority this season and playing a toerag who's scoring the goals to win us the points to get back up is justified imo. Deal with the situation in the summer and move one of them on in the summer if need be but let's get the club promoted first.
  16. If Andy Carroll plays for England so can I, If Andy Carroll plays for England so can I, If Andy Carrol plays for England, Andy Carroll plays for England, If Andy Carroll plays for England so can I.
  17. Who decides what the strongest team is though?
  18. Wenger should have gone for Given last January when he was trying to engineer a move away. With him in nets they'd be top of the league imo.
  19. Loads of people, including myself, said similar things when she was banging on about the Keegan situation. Turned out she was spot on...
  20. Hope you're taking the piss? They're even worse than Scunthorpe. We shouldn't win - we should demolish them.
  21. Chelsea drew with Blackburn the other week. True. But we needed to win them all, we were behind as it was. You'll get used to the trophyless seasons eventually We're too far off. It's Chelsea's league. A draw when they play each other isn't beyond the realms of possibility.... Still a tough task to win the rest though.
  22. We've had plenty of late equalisers/winners ourselves. I'd have settled for a draw for them before they kicked off. A point, a better GD and 2 games in hand is still a pretty nice position to be in.
