  1. midds

    RIP sale thread.

Because owning them is like being given permission to print money. They are the most popular club on the planet.
  2. midds

    World Class?

I'd have Ribery in there like.
  3. Serious? Well about four people posted that simultaneously on chat, I'm awaiting confirmation. Fuck's sake. Are you really this thick? Wait, don't bother.
  4. midds

    New third kit

It'll probably get used at the likes of Derby and Swansea.
  5. midds

    New third kit

Smart kit imo. The blue could maybe have been a little darker but I might even buy it.
  6. Got to be good news. Hope he's number 1 by the end of the season.
  7. I think Ashley's hoping that Everton keep on turning down City's bids for Lescott in the hope City come in for Bassong. Then he can squeeze them just like we did for Giv..... oh....

    RIP sale thread.

Are you just pretending to be a idiot. The information on both sites come from reliable sources, we just happened to be first one to run it. Why threads like this then? http://toon-talk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3746 Look mate you got no idea what your talking about, that threads stems from conversations we have had in the past about our lack of activity on newsnow. You cant just make assumption after reading 1 thread. Our board is small in numbers compared to this one, but all the lads on there are honest good lads. One of our admin got the information and I posted it, it bound to generate members, you'd be a idiot if you thought other wise. We'll find out on Tuesday then won't we?
  9. True... i honestly wasn't really that aware of the vitriol Sir Bobby received. It was unbelievable. All on the back of Euro 88 when we were shocking.

    RIP sale thread.

Usually, if something seems too good to be true it often is. Not saying this is 100% bollocks but I'm still hugely cautious about believing random people from the internet. No offence.
  11. Too many to choose from tbh. One time I do remember was him on the touchline in Turin in 90, in that silver suit during the penalties. It was clearly the biggest match in his career and the way he carried himself throughout it all was just sheer class. It must have been like a dagger through the heart when Waddle's penalty screamed over the bar but he just walked straight over to Beckenbauer, shook his hand and congratulated him. The absolute classiest thing he could possibly have done and it showed me that sometimes things just don't work out in life and sometimes you lose - you can do your utmost to prepare for something but it doesn't mean it's going to go your way. When it does happens you've got to accept it and act with a bit of dignity. It's about doing things the right way despite any anger or frustration bubbling under the surface. You take a deep breath, swallow your pride and show a bit of humility. He was class personified and I'm so proud he managed and represented us.
  12. The AC Milan technique. Buying up players so others can't have them. Delph might turn out to be shit....but he might be good. If they buy him and he's shit they sell him for buttons, if he's good they've got a good squad player. They've got money to burn so they can't lose.
  13. Fucking hell, he'll be 40 by then.
  14. A sad day for the sport. He was an absolute legend of the game who had the respect of every football fan in the country. RIP Sir Bobby.
  15. It isn't a good thing. People are saying that he obviously wants away so much it's probably better if he goes. We're undoubtedly weaker for him leaving but if he's not 100% committed to the club then it's probably better he leaves. If a player wants away then he should be honest enough to say so and he has done so hats off to him. I'd rather he stayed but there you go. Not the end of the world all things considered. None of them are 100% committed to the club though and never will be. It's just not a realistic expectation in football today and it's definitely not a realistic expectation at NUFC today. They all want away, I don't need a transfer request to tell me that. The only difference is that Beye actually has a chance at getting away unlike the real wastes of oxygen at the club like Alan Smith and Damien Duff. If players don't want to be here then it's best they find themselves other clubs. Beye has obviously been beavering away and and if then other shit you mentioned wants away then they need to leave too. I'll support the club. Don't really care who pulls on the shirt, I'll back them. But if we only have players who want to be here, the club will not survive because it will be made up of NOFC. Given the 50-50 choice, I'd have good players ahead of loyal every day - especially faux loyal like Smith and Duff. But we don't have the choice. We can't pick who stays and who goes. And if Beye wants away then we need to support his replacement rather than complain about him going. The club will always come first - ahead of any player.

If a player wants away then he should be honest enough to say so and he has done so hats off to him. I'd rather he stayed but there you go. Not the end of the world all things considered. but the way he has givend about has left a bad taste. given (verb): to try all you can to engineer a move without actually risking any pay out from the club by not putting in an official transfer request. slag the management off all you want, most of these players are just as dishonest (and greedier) Of course it has, and I'm not naive enough to believe he's not been in touch with loads of clubs in the last few months, but the act of asking for a transfer is the difference between a decent pro and a cunt. At least he's had the bollocks to ask or a transfer rather than feign injury/take the piss/go on strike/go awol etc and engineer a move in public. He's a good player but if he honestly thinks he' better off at a club like Stoke or Hull then that's his decision.

  19. He obviously wants to go, and to be fair I can't blame him. He's doing it the right way by handing in a transfer request, although I'd be astonished if he hasn't already got a club lined up on the snide... Good player and he'll be missed. I just hope we get top dollar for him because he'll need to be replaced.

    Looks like a mackem.

    Keegan or Shearer

I'd ideally like someone young, ambitious and hungry to turn us around. But given the choice of either Keegan or Shearer then I'd go for Shearer. Love Keggy for all he did for us as a player and manger (1st time round) but we need to move on. Some of us desperately need to stop living in the past and move on, the sooner the better.
  22. City have the nicest set of shirts this year by the looks of things.
  23. The bits I read said it was just as the players ran out. Ah right. Don't remember the noise as they ran out being particularly loud.
  24. The Leeds fans provided much of the volume last night tbh. Find it very hard to believe they piped crowd noise through the tannoy, especially when there was a lull in play and the place was virtually silent...
