He was always going imo. The main one to benefit is Walcott. Bet Routledge's ears pricked up when he heard the news too...

You're joking aren't you? Imagine how many replica shirts they'll shift now... They have never been happy with these Milan loans, and he'll miss all the chunk of their season leading up to the WC. That would have been a great draw for them if he made the England squad. Perhaps they should have said 'no' when he/Milan suggested it then. They hold his registration and pay his wages and should have put their foot down if they weren't happy. There was a big fuss about it, but Becks was very firm and wanted to go. Donovan very publicly accused him of lack of compromise. I remember the fuss he kicked up to get his own way now you mention it. Donovan got it spot on in that case. If he wasn't totally committed to LA then he shouldn't have signed in the first place. Got very little sympathy for Beckham and he wanted the cash from playing in the MLS and the profile of playing in Europe. Classic case of having your cake and eating it.

A ripped achilles tendon might just be the end of his career. At the top level anyway. Struggling to think of many blokes in their mid-thirties who come back from injuries like that.

You really don't rate Pancrate do you?

i think 2nd strips should be done away with. if teams wear identical strips then so be it. as kids we all had different tops one yet never passed to someone out of confusing tops. away team should just bring 11 yellow bibs. Unless they're playing Norwich obviously.

I don't get someone to pay my Sky bill for service like this, and it was all BBC channels not just BBC1, it's a good job we had been on and it came back on in time for the Brighton game. Have you tried camomile tea? Revenge is sweeter. Revenge? You need a lie down pal. Not worth getting het up about...

He's no worse than some of the defenders currently playing Premier League football evey week. He's not superb but he'll do for the time being. Sort of a tall Andy O'Brien. He'll do ok.

We've been on. Chill out.

With our goal difference situation, Forest would have needed 4 wins more than us whether we'd won or drawn today. 11 points would have been massive though. I must be the only one who doesn't give a shit about winning the league. Seeing the likes of Smith, Butt and Nolan parading the trophy around the ground at the last home game would be a bit wierd seeing as they were the ones who took us down in the first place. They would be righting a wrong but it wouldn't be anything to get carried away with. Serious question - If we didn't go up this season but we managed to do it next year (or two years down the line) and Smith, Butt and Nolan were parading the trophy around the ground, would you still feel is was weird to celebrate? Fingers crossed, I would absolutely love to see the club celebrate going up as champions. Yep. Doesn't feel right slapping ourselves on the back for winning a league we shouldn't even be competing in in the first place. But we are competing in this league, and after the shite of last season, deservedly so. If a new manager can pull those same players into a cohesive team that can get us back at the first attempt, the manager, and yes, those players deserve that slap on the back imho. We have no devine right to be back in the Premiership, the team has had to work hard for it. Fair enough. No-one has said we have a divine right to be in the Premier League but after having competed in it for the last 17 years or so, you'll forgive me for being a bit apathetic towards it. Finishing 21st in the league ladder doesn't constitute a great season imo.

Butt, Smith, Nolan, R. Taylor, Barton and Best. That shower of shit cost us about £300k a week and contribute the square root of fuck all. Nolan's got a few this season but is useless to us next year.

We were one goal away from going up this afternoon. Had we got a late winner then we'd have been virtually up imo.
