An added aspect of the decision will be Owen's contract situation. If Kinnear holds out any hope of Owen re-signing then he's going to do everything possible to keep him sweet. If he's fit, he'll play him imo.

3-1 win. Owen and Viduka 2
-
Not even his fault he's not got a dad either.
-
I'd offer him to Wolves or Birmingham for about £3m. They'll be after a bit of experience to make sure they go up.
-
Looks like he's adapting to the Premiership very nicely thangyewverymuch. A bargain.

Fucking great when Chez starts revving his engines.

It's not great I'd accept. After Barton and Gutierrez we're struggling a bit... We also have some very good forwards, some solid defenders and an excellent keeper too don't forget though. Not saying we're brilliant because we're not - we're very ordinary. But being ordinary is better than being shite. And there's a lot of shite in the league this year.

People used to post about how happy they were with the Ashley regime going about there transfer business all hush. Now with JFK were a fed a daily update of where we are looking. I don't mind as I love reading the tittle tattle. KEEP TALKING JFK!!! Got to be a happy medium of info given out by the club and Kinnear. At the minute he's making his mouth go too much and needs to engage his brain a bit more before speaking. It could be car crash next with him on LIVE TV on Goals On Sunday. Just hope he's tactful. He can't possibly sit there and say nothing but whatever he says will be analysed to fuck.

That's the type of stuff a manager says about a week before they get binned. He'll not want to get caned at Old Trafford next week either. I reckon he'll walk.
-
Brother-in-law was there today and said they were appalling. He switched the defence around and they looked shite. He, and the lads he goes with, walked out as soon as Bolton's 4th went in. Loads more did exactly the same.
-
"If you can't win then make sure you don't lose". That was Robson's mantra when he first took over and we'll climb the table if we continue picking up points like this. Good result and another clean sheet. Got to beat Stoke next week though.
-
I'd settle for 4 points from today and Stoke.

This summer we replaced Ramage, Milner & Faye with Bassong, Gutierrez & Coloccini. Which three would you prefer? We're also up financially on those players too. About £3m?

How safe are the roads this morning? Are they going to call it off? Again.

Or we were going to fund it by selling someone else, or the deal wasnt structured with enough upfront to satisfy the mamic brothers who controlled the move. not sure where keegan 'lying' comes into that. We either made the bid or we didn't. Keegan said we did. I don't dispute that we did, but i imagine the deal wasn't structured right for the Mamic brothers. iirc we were only going to pay £6m upfront. Keegan was asked after the deal fell through if he would get funds and replied - "I have no proof of that yet but I have no doubts he will (back me)." we spent a record fee for a defender on Coloccini, if you froze time then you would think we'd have no problem with spending and would go on to spend more, but instead we sold faye and milner. That's fair enough. Just pointing out that we made a huge bid for one of the most highly-rated players in Europe in April and nearly got him. I've got no idea how we would have paid for him had we actually signed him but the intention was there. Not sure how many players we'd have had to have sold to raise £19m but it partially contradicts the accusations that Ashley wasn't prepared to spend a bit of cash.
-
Mort confirmed it in a programme (defo the higher bid than Spurs, anyway), so it wasn't [just?] Keegan lying. The point is why didn't all that money go on someone else? Surely they had more than one idea. And if we'd got him btw, would that have been the entire summer's spending? We'll never know. Maybe it was just a bluff by Ashley and he knew the player would always choose Spurs over us? I just don't know any more. :-[

Didn't Keegan mention us having a club record bid for Modric accepted by Dinamo before the Euro's? £19m rings a bell but I could be wrong. Which would obviously mean Ashley was prepared to seriously dip into his pocket or Keegan lied about it.

He does wanna sell, as long as someone comes up with 450m, he'll take all the time he needs untill he finds that. And off we go again...
