If Sunderland were higher than Newcastle.....................
midds replied to Martin Lol's topic in Football
I want what's best for Newcastle, not what's worst for Sunderland. -
Sorry, but that's ridiculous. It doesn't work like that. It can though, the fact is we don't need to sell him and IMO we shouldn't sell him to any other Premiership team under any circumstances (unless maybe one of them is willing to offer in the range of £15 million). Someone needs to stand up to these fuckwits eventually (the fuckwits being both agents and there idiot players). IMO he should be told that if he wants to leave he can go abroad if a club meets the full amount of his five year contract plus any signing on fee we gave him when he signed it. If he's not willing to do that then tough, he can stay. After a few months sulking he'll realise his carear is passing him by and ask to play again, its that simple, it just takes anyone at the club to have some balls.. How many top players would come here if they were treated like that? How many would commit 4 or 5 years of their career to us if we did that? If he's beyond the point of no return then the club should act professionally and give him his transfer. At the right price. You can't just spit the dummy out and make him sit on the bench for 5 years ffs.

Who'd you get to have a word with him Wull? He's obviously heard my statistic that I've been telling everyone. Let's hear it...............one more time.....

That's totally fair comment midds - I just can't help feeling that a team of grumpy gets, regardless of how talented they may or may not be, is never going to be a team that plays with élan, style or enthusiasm or indeed playing as a team - if they're not enjoying their work, they're going to be about as much use as a chocolate fireguard...or Alan Smith. Talent certainly hasn't been handled properly here in recent years, I think that much is self-evident...it's all been reduced to a numb£r$ game: pay them enough so they stay...and the net result has been rather corrosive I feel. Bang on. Ultimately, it's up to Keegan to get them playing together. He's got to handle the players he's inherited for the time being and get them performing. The bottom half of the league is so tight that getting N'Zogbia motivated and performing might just be the difference between 17th and 12th. And at £500,000 a place - it could be worth a fortune.

Got the raw ingredients there though imo. We should be looking to keep hold of talented kids and develop them. He's not the finished article I agree. It's ironic that he is probably leaving because he's spent so much time playing second fiddle to the finished article. Because I'm pretty sure Damien Duff is finished as a top player. I'd go along with that. Duff was an excellent player 5 years ago but he's very, very ordinary now. I'm not saying I condone N'Zogbia being a grumpy bastard, but watching Duff picked in preference to you must vex the lad. Sure, of course it would. But I still think he's got far too high an opinion of himself for his own good or for the rest of the team's good. Possibly. I'm guessing he does rate himself pretty highly tbh. It's down to the manager to handle the personalities and motivate them to perform though. I'd rather see a team of genuinely talented, grumpy gets playing as opposed to a team of 'canny lads'. Talent, handled properly, is more important than anything else.

mackems.gif Way OTT. Just wait until NM sees this news...

Best for all concerned tbh. Has never been good enough to hold down a regular spot, for a prolonged period of time, up here so he may as well try his luck elsewhere. If he does well at Stoke they'll probably make a bid for him in the summer.

That's what I thought too. The whole reason he fucked off from Arsenal in the first place was because he missed Spain so much, wasn't it? Or a meringue?
-
That's who I immediately thought of. Swanson at Dundee Utd will also be a fantastic player in a couple of years but you're buying potential at that age. Scott Brown hasn't had much of a season at Celtic and they'd want their money back then some so I don't think he'd be good value. Danny Swanson is sheer class, he has the capability to be the best player in the world, ever. He's shite. Always too keen to show off his massive shiny black helmet. Part-time copper like?

Nah man, 4-5-1 with Smith, Geremi and Butt in midfield and Viduka up top on his own. Keep it tight, frustrate them, stop them from playing and then nick a goal from a set-piece. Clearly the way to approach this game. Don't think we're capable of doing that unfortunately. I was taking the piss you silly, silly man. Long day.

Don't think we're disciplined enough to go there and grind out a 0-0. They're fantastic going forward at home and we'll do well to match them. I'm not saying we can't go there and get a result but we'll have to be on top form to do so. Our best hope is if we score first and then hang on to get a win or a point.

Fear is a pointless emotion. Have faith in the lads and go there in expectancy. We're LONG overdue a win and we won't get a better shot at it than tomorrow. 'It is better to travel in hope, than to arrive.' (R. L. Stevenson) Let's have the cunts.

What hasnt helped was seeing their last 3 results here (SSN showed them earlier).... 1-2, 1-1, 1-4. Excellent record which I am sure it being drummed into them at every given opportunity Don't give a fuck about the stats tbh. This is our chance to drag ourselves out of it and we'll take it. Chin up, mate. Be brave. Oh aye I mate. The butterflies are less because I do feel a little something clicked on Monday night. I am just a little nervous about getting over-confident. I Remember being in this same position 87(?) (Easter Weekend too) when we played Sheff Wed at home .... it went bloody horribly wrong that day. 1-3 defeat. 20 years ago man! Has no bearing on tomorrow. Chest out, deep breaths, it's only fucking Fulham for fuck's sake. Hit them hard, hit them early.

Really looking forward to it tomorrow. We've got a fantastic chance to put ourselves 7 points clear of the shite-zone. Let's have the fuckers - bring it on.
