........... amd according to the WH boards Freddie says he won't go unless they up the offer to £6m!! Straight out of the Winston Bogarde Book of Commitment and Loyalty. mackems.gif A contract is a two-way thing. The clubs should never have offered him it in the first place if they weren't prepared to honour it. The WH fans should be annoyed at Curbishley and Magnusson tbh.

They've obviously paid through the nose to get the lad in but when you have one of the richest men in the world throwing cash at the club they can afford to. They've bought him early enough to get him settled in and they'll be hoping he hits the ground running in August. The inflated price is no guarantee he'll do the business however. Wish we were in a position to do that tbh.

Why not just wait and see what develops? Talk about jumping to conclusions...

Aye, along the beach at Blackpool probably...

Man Utd winning the League is a victory for attacking football. Chelsea play some effective football but it's pretty dull. Man U try to score as many as possible in the vast majority of games so I'm pleased they've won it.

They already have plans, by limiting foreigners but at the end of the day UEFA can't do a whole lot change our PL, that is governed purely by the FA. FIFA being the world's governing body have some power however at the end of the day it'll be what the FA that makes decisions about the PL and they will do nothing to stop the gravy train it is on, they will quite rightly only sanction changes that favour English clubs not clubs in Spain, Italy or Latvia or wherever. I can see a day when UEFA and the PL lock horns and to be perfectly honest due to the worldwide appeal of the PL, I would back the FA to come out as winners. Nah. The FA are members of UEFA and FIFA. If it came down to brass tacks, England would be kicked out of the European Championships and the World Cup and English clubs would be turfed from the Champions League and the UEFA Cup. No way would the FA even dare to take UEFA on. The consequences of losing would be unimaginable.

Looks like a good idea to me personally. -
I'll go for 2-1 Everton. They need a result and I think they'll get one.

They alluded to this last night after the game. Reading between the lines of what Ten Cate and Balague were hinting at, I'd say Barca would listen to offers for about half the squad. They were talking about a "white list" (their words) - a list of players they definitely wanted to keep. As opposed to a 'black list' of players who would be made available. Whether they'd move is another matter entirely though.
-
That crest is horrific.

Starting to go a bit downhill gentlemen... Would I be pissing into the wind by asking you two to try to stick to Keegan's recent comments? I understand the need to refer back to the ambition of previous boards to offer a comparison btw. I just think that particular subject has been done to death.

Barca looking a sorry team Full time. Surprised only Xavi got sent off. Real were toying with them for long periods of the game.
-
4-1. Henry consolation.
-
2-0 Robben....
-
I think with a goal start, Real might just take the piss and try to show them up.
-
1-0 Real. Raul. Could well be a long night for Barca.
-
9 according to Sky.
-
Madrid getting the league winners trophy tonight too. Barca expected to form a guard of honour when Real trot out too........that's going to sting a little I'd imagine.

Real v Barca @ 9 tonight. SS1 Usually tasty...

tbh harper has always been a valuble asset. if at any time harper's presence because a hinderance to us, like shola's is, and he turned down the chance to leave, do you really think we'd be defending him then? we've always known harper was a good keeper, and been perfectly happy for him to stay, even though he doesn't get a game, because of this, and if we sold him we'd need to get a replacement, who might cost more, and be worse than him. we'll need to replace shola, whether he goes or not, because he's s****. Both have spent loads of time purely as back-up. The odd run of games here and there but never established as first choice. Harper may have cracked it this time however. They've both just stuck it out but Harper is praised for his loyalty but lets just see how much s*** Shola gets for, possibly, turning down a move. Has Harper ever been the subject of actual bids we've accepted though or just papertalk bids? We'll never be sure but I'm guessing a few bids have come in for him at one stage or another over the past 6 seasons or so. Difference surely being that we've always been happy to have a guy like Harper knocking around in case of injury? I doubt he's on anything like excessive wages, and a reliable sub keeper is always handy to have around. Shola on the other hand is clearly surplus to requirements. He's not seen as good enough, even in a back-up role, and we seem to really want rid of him, and have a chance to get great money for him while we're at it. I'm not gonna crucify Shola for turning it down, don't see why he should have to live in a place that he doesn't like just to appease us, but I don't think his situation is that similiar to Harper's tbh. Fair enough I suppose. Harper is a much better keeper than Shola is a striker so in that respect he's more valuable. The pair have both shown a chronic lack of ambition by not moving on though. One gets praised and the other gets panned. Never mind - I always thought this move would break down but I thought it would be Pulis coming to his senses not Shola being scared to move away.
