  1. thing is if it weren't for the east stand and parts of the milburn it would look very similar to the big bowl, the same all the way round type stadium. i agree, but i think it would be the best of them. realistically tho. just do the gallowgate like the leazes would be a fantastic horse-shoe. aye it would. got to admit i'm a fan of the differing types of stand around grounds but that would be good.

  3. one of the best things about SJP is its positioning slightly up a hill from the rest of the city centre. i've been on a few trains coming into newcastle from the south and away fans ALWAYS comment on it when they see it coming round the bend onto that bridge. without exception they comment on how impressive it is. just wish they'd drape a banner and add some flags to the back of the gallowgate so it's not so much a gray slab.
  4. weshington (no spelling mistake there either) was one idea, somewhere by the metro centre was another as was gosforth park. john halls ideas before he got in charge. i don't think the idea was to merge but to ground share. (weshington)
  5. i agree with this though i'd add jonas, carroll and ranger to the list. (carroll and ranger as first team squad players who may come through)
  6. more so down to the nightlife and shopping than SJP methinks. SJH nad fred gave us some fantastic times and the best football i've seen in my life....but they left no legacy.
  7. I swear i've read that post before. i've posted it or similar more than once.
  8. whenever i saw him on the town he was always very sheepish and seemed embarassed at all the attention.

    Milner for England

duff never had that sort of pace but could just drop a shoulder and go past witrhout having to byrn them off. milner does get past defenders a lot more than people seem to give him credit for.

    Milner for England

I'd say he has more chance of getting in the England team out wide. We have competition wide right as well but Milner brings qualities the others don't. People talk about playing people out of position but Milner is very versatile, he has played for years out wide, most of his career in fact, and I believe this is where he would play for England. a bit of both is where i see him. in the duff/robben role at chelsea. not wingers but allowed to go wide but also doing a lot of qwork in the full back/centre half channel.
  11. Yup. Even though its to mark the teams promotion, its almost certain there'll be a group there still singing against Mike Ashley. [/quotenot just those shouting about ashley etc. i've witnessed two promotions, both were big time parties that i can't see happening this time round in the same way.
  12. who's that ? the only other club i've heard interested was villa. Because they haven't informed you personally, doesn't mean they don't exist. see above man. Doesn't change a thing. What happens happens - then we can all play the "I told you so" game. Until then - hypothetical. stop talking cack man. i asked who else was interested then i got told off someone else. why do you have to make an issue out of a simple question ?.
  13. no. it will be a strange atmosphere aswell.
  14. i'm not on facebook....could you get in touch and see if he fancies going to leeds. (assuming it's him.....could be her)

    Milner for England

at the time milner for 12mill was too good to turn down. as for john robertson being a winger it has to be noted that the dramatic upturn in milners form has came since he stopped being played out wide.
  16. it's easy....all we have to do is quickly find someone called nicky swale to give them.
  17. Mr Hart is going to have to slow down. he's getting sacked from places i didn't even know he was managing.

  19. who's that ? the only other club i've heard interested was villa. Wolves and Hull are too apparently. personally speaking he'd be better off waiting till the summer rather than going to either of those now.
  20. i doubt they would. it's just like saying if we were 1 point ahead going into the last game of the season against the team in second place would people be more b othered about that or an FA CUP SEMI FINAL ? That is the WORST comparison I have quite possibly ever heard , if anyone had a brain they would go to both surely? i see it as a pretty good comparisson as in both occasions it's one game away from the prize. reaching the culmination of the comp etc.

  23. How do we know what the wages figure was at 30 June 2009 without the accounts? For all we know it could have increased in that year since 2008 Aye. It's all guesswork until we see the accounts. I think you're right though. I'm sure I read that Ashley did increase the outgoing player wages. I remember it because it struck me as a ridiculous thing to have done if you're then going to blame everything on the extravegance of the previous owners. it wasn't just the wages though was it. it was using future revenue to shore up their present with little or no thought as to what to do after that.
