disagree with him...boro had as many if not more clear chances than us....downing was quiet because he isn't really very good. barton was largely anon.
-
take your word for it.........what does he say ?

kick off time for the next home game is about right. i'll be opening my first drink about 8am.....i am not going through that sober

The cameraman didn't catch Duff and the defender when the ball was played, they were too far ahead of the play. How convenient. Looked miles on from where I was sitting, lush through ball from Charlie. looked off from where i was but maybe cos he ran round the back of the defender. like to see it again

Faye is as much a midfielder as a defender. Bolton fans were certainly of the opinion that he was their best midfielder. Faye is a midfielder, he said in an interview that he was a midfielder before he joined Bolton and that that's his preferred position. The reason he played there for Bolton was Gardner got injured so they had to move Ben Haim to left back. I was of the opinion that he should go into midfield with Cacapa and Taylor continuing their partnership, but not sure I fancy Cacapa's height up against Laursen and Carew. only carew really as laursen will only get up for set pieces when faye would drop in aswell.

given hasn't been useless and harper was injured for today so what makes you think he'll be fit for saturday ?

just about a fair result and if one side had to win they probably had the better chances. give....kept us in it despite some dodgy distribution and lack of communication with defenders carr...done allright epecially in the first half when he had to do all the right hand side work (attacking and defending ) on his tod n'zogbia..when he could be arsed to find the space put in some fantstic crosses. only looked bothered when 20yds from their goal. couldn't give a toss about getting back cacapa...man of the match for me taylor...looked a bit at sea at times and took too long on the ball butt...desperate to find someone in space but with little movement he was found wanting duff...gets double manned so should expect the full back to help/make use of the space. didnt bollock zod nough to get him going barton..i have no idea where he was supposed to be playing in the first half and apart from turning a goal kick to them into a throw in and 1 good ball to duff done little to nothing emre...as with butt, the lack of movement hampers his game smith...lots of work, nowt else owen....good owen type goal.when he got the ball tended to find a striped shirt.got through a lack of unowen type work when smith went off milner....even if his crosses arent the best he forces defenders back viduka...no mobility but still a threat in the box(i'd actually rather play ameobi)

That's one of the worst yet. Christ, will it ever stop? It really is unbelievable. My jaw dropped reading that. I live near to London I might have to go and pay him a visit. Talk about over the top and how dare that prick assume that everyone outside of Newcastle thinks like he does. I`m fuming. No fans I know from a variety of clubs think any of that. it's rod liddle man. what did you expect. the only thing more amazing than people continuing to get wound up by him is the way he still gets published. divvent bite, divvent read then he'll not get published.

idon't think the euro stuff made the difference, they wanted him more than we did.

My sentiments exactly. Good post. not gonna argue. i guess time will tell....we all hope i'm right

good thing is though....nowt from nufc. thats the way to conduct transfer business, tell nowt. (then again there was nowt to tell)

Honest question? Where does physioroom get its info from? It often seems like estimates made from college text books to me, and is often wrong. KK hasnt said he is out, and all signs point to him having a chance to play. keegan is a regular at disinformation. he'll regularly say someone is out for three weeks and play them the next day
-
i had a feeling of that at first (appointed for sentiment) but now after whats happened afterwards i see a bigger picture where his shortfallings are covered by others.(scouting, youth set up etc). this will fly in the face of some but i think keegans time out will have done him good, gave him time to look at where he went wrong, how he got caught up in mangerialship and lost his verve. i still think we may be seat of the pants till the end of the season but i do believe (i cant "know" it)the summer will be huge.

Well? what ? He's good at saying the right thing, Kev like. Do you think he's going to say outright he didn't want Dennis Wise ? You know full well I'm on about him saying the funds were there if he wanted them. That we didn't buy anyone because he chose not to, rather than the board not backing him. no, I didn't. I hope he is telling the truth and not just saying the right thing although with good intentions. Yeah, cos we spent ages yesterday arguing about Wise. I hope he's telling the truth too. In which case your worries about the board would be incorrect. i'd very much doubt keegan would come out and say "the funding is there...just watch" which he has done...(not word for word i know)....if he didnt believe it was there. then we fall into parkys paradox....why would ashley buy nufc ,spend so much on it, naturally want to make money on it and the only to do that would be for nufc to be succesful which means significant investment on the playing side.

they are going through financila trouble right now so maybe someone owed cash and not happy ?
-
who do boro play in central midfield? rochemback and arca isnt it? hardly the most physical pair and neither spend a lot of time going on surging runs upfield. i think we can do without a defensive midfielder for this one so i agree. boateng, cattermole not been playing ?
-
those two could well take that literally

Spend big =/= spend well. You HAVE to spend big to attract the players who will be good enough to improve us. Again, the Barnes deal has proved that. would barnes have improved us ? i wouldn't have put him inour starting 11 and derby fans don't reckon he's kicked on since looking good last season in an easier league. i don't even think he has been an auto first choice for them this season so it just maybe that the powers that be didn't judge £3mill a decent price for his potential. as for spending etc and attracting players. man city seemed to do it at the start of this season. Man City had the advantage that although Sven seemed to be hated by England fans, he was still a manager players wanted to play for. Hopefully Keegan will have that still too. Barnes would certainly improve our midfield. Taking Emre, Butt, Barton, Geremi and Smith out of central midfield would improve any team. aye righto Ok, I'll put it another way. He's better than all of those. No disrespect Gol...but that's bullshit. Saying that he MAY turn out to be better is probably a fairer statement. All the players mentioned above (bar Smith) are full internationals (or have been) in that position on the field. Barnes is still a relative unknown in top flight football. Which of them do you currently rate as better players than Barnes? It doesn't matter how good they used to be (Geremi for one used to be fantastic in Spain), if they're s**** now, they're s**** now, simple as. Butt is useless - I struggle to see what he actually does. Emre needs shipping off ASAP, as he's done nothing for us since signing, other than a couple of wonder goals (sounds a bit like Martins). The only one who I'd keep is Barton, and I'm yet to see any football ability from him since signing (which is strange as he was so good at City). Barnes would get in the team in front of all of those players at the moment. Emre and Barton will offer us more now than Barnes will, the lad can't even get a regular start at Derby although he clearly has the potential to be a good player in the future. The same thing is said about Emre every single time he comes back from injury or suspension. The sad thing is, it's saying much more about how poor our midfield really is than how good Barnes is. Personally I think we should be looking at much better players than him, but if we signed him he'd certainly (in my opinion) be playing. Emre is a homer. He passes sideways, and just lends the ball to people and wants it back. Get rid as soon as we can get somewhere near our money back. woah there aad fella. lets see how emre fits into a passing team that will be encouraged to move and find/create space. not saying it'll work but i'm willing to see.

i wouldn't read much into keegan talking about players being fit etc. he's a regular one for saying such and such will be out for 3 weeks then playing him a day later.
