so then, this window ends on friday night. will we have a frantic week of comings and goings,just add faye to the books or nothing....your thoughts ? for all the talk i don't think we'll get another keeper,we'll bring in a right back and and another central midfielder. i predict no major outgoings.

yes, but I was running the risk of them being worthless. I chose to sell them while I could, and because it became obvious he was going to buy them all up. Its a double edged sword, I liked having shares and being a shareholder, but it was time to move on and hope it was all in the clubs best interests at the same time, is how I saw it. All I am doing here BTW, is expressing concern at the comments that Allardyce has made concering support etc from the board. You would have to be pretty naive to dismiss them. We have had good managers before who walked for lack of support. None of our managers EVER said this when the Halls and Shepherd ran the club. If you choose to ignore this because you don't want to consider the possibility that this could happen, its your prerogative. I want Newcastle United to win things and couldn't give a rats arse who owns the club and what their public profile is, to a degree. I've said this often enough, and I'm sure that YOU should have seen it. I'll believe Ashley actually has high ambitions for the club - unlike many others who are taking it for granted - when I see more concrete evidence. Nowt wrong with that. hang on....if it was "obvious" he was going to buy them all up anyway(i'm guessing you mean he had enough to enforce a sale),which he has to buy at the price he set,how can you say they were running the risk of them "being worthless" ? He could have chosen not to sell, and ended up with worthless paper, and Ashley still owning the club anyway. But instead he heroically cashed them in! ohno he couldnt....once ashley had over a certian percntage he can force the remaining shareholders to sell......and he did. kind of compulsary purchase for shares.

not so sure,i'd reckon a lot of players could be offered more here and at villa but would still go to man utd/chelski for the chance of winning medals. Yes, but with medals comes money. of course but offer most pros £30,000pw and no medals or £28,000pw and winning stuff ,they'll take the pay cut. i'll bet steve sidwell and tal ben haim would have been financially aswell off here than at chelsea.

Chelsea won the league with pacey wingers and a powerfull centre half. I agree with your point about clever forwards and a clever central man, but Oba has raw ability, I like the bloke, but he really doesn't have a footballing brain. Milner, is just an average premierleague player, overated due to nationality and his age, and I think he would be FAR better suited as a centre mid, as his passing and shooting ability would be better utilized than his 1/4 good crosses and his lack of pace. Owen is a predator, just because he has pace doesn't mean he can play on the wing, he is world class in the 6 yard box, and its where he should be, or in the treatment room. After watching Bolton today Diouf and Anelka showed how wingers should play, they didn't waste time getting into the box and/or putting a ball across the box. anelka a winger ? thats just a forward using space. see my point ?
