    2007-2008

looks a lot more interesting than the last few seasons and thats not from a purely nufc point of view...loads of money being spent etc.next season could be one of the most enjoyable for a long time, even for the neutral. football could be good to watch!

    Club Captain

what does a captain do ? those that are leaders will lead regardless of an armband. sometimes giving the captaincy to a player fires/inspires them (beckham) or matures them (cantona),we have a leader too immature(taylor) and little else. viduka could be an interesting choice..captaining aus at the minute and with a reputation for going missing....would the arm band "inspire him"?
  4. I'm not, I just don't want him as first choice RB and I think a few appearances here and there for Chelsea in the absence of anyone else are making people think he's better than he is in that position. If he was any good back there, he'd not be going for nowt. that means all players who reach the end of there contracts and leave for free are s*** ? Not at all, but if Mourinho geniunely thought Geremi was a top class Premiership right back, don't you think he'd at least have offered him a new deal considering he's got no-one there that he really fancies atm? no-one says he's "top class" but good enough to play there for us or right midfield aswell at the minute.remember mourinho thought he was good enough to buy and keep around and use...........i wonder how many times he was in the first 16 ? He never bought him. ok,he never pushed him out the door either
  5. barca are reportedly after him and i wouldn't be surprised if he took a pay cut(from what chelsea offered) to go.

  9. i don't think he sets his sights low,he just understands that he'll look daft if he says we will get top 6 and then we don't. IF he werre to get the players he is currently linked with he may say "improvment is all we are after" but he'll be thinking "we should get top 6"
  10. other teams have strong squads,we have too many players for these positions. jeez
  11. http://www.soccerway.com/ is probably the best football results and fixtures, info site going.very handy for a small time gambler like myself who needs to lnow who's in form in the norwegian 2nd division.does the odd rumour aswell, mostly from decent sources.
  12. the plans were just that, plans,no official application has been sent in.
  13. this lot do a league table of newspapers rumour accuracy.http://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/ click the link,it's about a quarter the way down the page.not very impressive by the journos.
  14. Making a point of the Sunday Sun making yet another non story their back page lead. I wonder over 52 back pages a year how many times they are correct - just how often fairyale meets reality. not just the sunday sun to be fair
  15. DIAF. DIAF? what does that mean Dead Insane American Fuckwit
  16. i wonder what the legality in all this ammounts to,ie has he signed a pre-contract ? can he go elsewhere now if he chooses ?
  17. On the otherhand, we could sign him now, and when he returns in November, it's like having an out-of-window new signing on our hands. Who's going to need atleast another month to get used to playing football again, and is going to need atleast another few months to adapt to the league - at his age. On top of already being paid masses for doing absolutely f*** all. If he's injured for ages, it's an absolutely rediculous signing. why? why, he'll miss the first 2 1/2 months of the season, so what was anyone complaining when we signed Viduka who's likely to miss the first month If he's out for 6 months, it means he's out until December, if you can count. July, August, September, October, November, December. And that's around four months missing the season. Where we'll be paying him big wages, to sit on an injury table. And, where Viduka has played in this league for a hefty segment of his career, and is proven in this league, Edmilson doesn't know it - and needs to adapt. The guy is injury prone anyway. What would be the point, especially when there are so many other options? and it may be four months and we may not be paying all the wages (like fowlers deal to man citeh when leeds were still paying a substantial chunk) no proof of either mind Obviously, i'm being hypothetical. I've said - if he's out for 6 months and we're paying big wages, then it's a rediculous signing - which it is. I've also said... if he's out for a couple of months and his wages aren't too high, then it's a shrewd signing, given his versatility. you'll get spelks in your arse mind Are you going to try and bum him like? am i going to try and bum him like what ? like you have been ?

  19. also with players looking after themselves better (diet etc) players are not necessarily past it at 30.

  21. bet they'll get it on appeal Its not football manager man. Rarely works like that. I can only remember 1 appeal being succesful - Juninho to boro where they showed them videos of his showboating etc. Anyone remember any others? i dont play football manager and it very often works like that.
  22. he'll get it because he is good enough

  24. According to SSN: We're linked with Gudjohnsen / We've agreed in principal to sign Edmilson Whether either are accurate, we don't know. We could be after someone totally different for all we know. Think it was mentioned that Motta wants out...... and rumour has it they want deco out before moving for lampard
