Nah man, the best don't. And they don't ever sign any duds either. The one thought always gets me is "stability breeds success" when its more often the other way round.

Seems more like, after PL approval, its the legal stuff, ie Barclays and money transfers. When it us all done 100% it will be announced.

Is that the Barclays from Chapel Park ? I went out with one of the daughters once.

We'll not be exploding in the same way, it will be expected. Not sure I agree with that. When we got promoted in 93 there was a definite feeling amongst the support that we were going to take the Premier League by storm in our first season. And we did. Really ? My lot thought we were being brash by being confident of avoiding relegation

Our defence is good but how many are top 4-5 quality? If the new owners are going to be splashing that sort of cash it’ll be to challenge for CL places. Yes but they probably can’t. According to some football finance experts we’ll have £150,000,000 plus player sales to spend at most. Is it really a good idea to spend nearly half our budget on a player in a position we don’t need when we need 10-12 players. And yet if they did the same on a forward, no-one would bat an eye lid. It’s unfashionable to spend so much money (bigger % of a budget) on a defender. If it bought us a quality player like van Dyk though... But again, cb is a position we are fairly strong. I don't think we are, it looks that way because, as I've said, we play 5 at the back and a central midfield that is often more centre half than nidfield. As much as I like our centre halves I'm not sure I'd like to go to 4 at the back with a midfield you want to get forward. You are right. But assuming we can only spend £70m on one or max two players, would you want it to be on a central defender? Why would I want to assume that ? We would then be a much more attractive proposition for quality youngsters and more experienced players at the end or near the end of their contracts meaning that "assumption" quite probably wouldn't need to be real.

Not to mention I'd guess pressure from Government not to ostracise the Saudi regime which is looking to invest at a time like this.
-
It's worth noting if they were to reject the takeover there would likely be a legal challenge of some kind, and I don't think the British government would be too happy. The Saudi's are a massive trade partner for the UK, and to say they couldn't invest in football would be a bit like making your dinner guest eat their meal in the hallway while drinking their expensive bottle of wine in the dining room. They also will likely be sitting down with Saudi Arabia to discuss a rights package in the near future. Imagine doing that having just told them they can't own a club. As others have suggested, I think they're going to wave this through and use it as a precursor to major reform. The truth is both the Premier League and the EFL need to reform their tests. They're flimsy at best and the lack of diligence opens up clubs to really bad owners (Blackpool and Charlton spring to mind, as does them across the road). The smart PR move is to release this story, privately vent your unease through 'sources' and 'begrudgingly' pass it. FWIW, I'm not a fan of us being taken over by PIF. It's another instance of the league selling it's soul to anyone that can afford it, and I fully expect there will be political ramifications to this, but in the same way I can't personally dislodge Ashley, I see little opportunity to move PIF. Precisely.

Id like to know what won the month of his double V Spurs.

Just about my favourite away day. Definitely best league away day. It was a good day but the Leicester fans soured it with some of the shit that went on. My account of it.... https://www.newcastle-online.org/forum/index.php?topic=65836.msg2075980#msg2075980 Slightly more eventful than mine. I was 16 at the time, was a bit scared. I remember a few people losing sight after the sharpened coins the were throwing hit them. Also remember leaving and them looking for Newcastle, seen a lad fucked up, put in an ambulance then dragged back out again. Fucking animals It was always a bit lively round Filbert Street. Even worse if you just headed for floodlights as you often ended up at the Rugby ground and that left you pretty isolated.

Diego Swarfega allegedly being lined up as NUFC's South American ambassador/operations head.
-
Doesn't matter tbh. Wherever it is he's sitting there anonymously taking it like a little bitch Oh yeah. It’s probably the Wraiths family WhatsApp, his dad is calling him a cunt and his mam saying don’t worry pet, he’s not even yours.

Its me man.....and I've cried myself to sleep many a night.

They've got this crazy mental idea that pre 1992, everyone in the north east supported them and we had no supporters at all. Then Keegan came along and everyone started supporting Newcastle and that's why Newcastle now have more fans than them. All it takes is a little look on the following website to totally disprove this bullshit argument they keep peddling. https://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/england.htm Viewing both NUFC and safc's year on year average attendances pre 1992 will show you that most of the time, our average attendance has been higher than theirs. They just completely fabricate stuff in their heads, repeat it a few times to a few others and before you know it it becomes a mackem fact. I vaguely remember Sima taking them through pre 92 figures on RTG a few years back. Then it became about the North Sea, the dead etc. Hilarious.

It would be more Newcastle United to announce the sale was off on a weekend when people least expect it.
-
Whichever can get it on screen from twitter first, so probably sky sports.

Have you just flown in from Mars? Yes and even there we know that 43.6% wouldn't be classed an entire nation.

Manor Parks "The voters of the entire UK" bit made me laugh the most.

Hancock is a Newcastle fan, signed shirt behind him when he Zooms from home. Aye I saw that.
