  1. To spite any new owner as they wont then be able to sell them for the rest of the season. I know it's not but its the type of snide thing he'd do.
  2. Why do the media make more of the Saudis humanitarian record when they're buying us but all the clubs that are owned by the Russians or the Chinese get hardly any bother at all? They're worse than the Saudi in the humanitarian world rankings... not by much, but certainly worse none-the-less. It’s because they’re looking at taking us over. There’d be not a peep if an offer was going into the Glazers. I remember 1996, The Mirror in particular were terrified that we were going to win the league. Can vaguely recall MOTD (I think) showing the top of the prem, from second down.......guess who was top......hated the media, with a couple of exceptions, ever since No recollection of that mind.
  3. That would be Jim not Jarred.
  4. How does MA lose that money? Surely it's the club that loses that money. 'The club' is a company 100% owned by MA. SD is a company c. 60% owned by MA. If he gives away potential future income for new owners, that is reflected in the price he can extract (all other things equal) and shares the benefit with his minority shareholders. The club barely makes a profit so he'll make more from his smaller holding in SD than he would from his entire holding of NUFC.
  5. When Gimp said they, I think he meant the Saudi's.
  6. It would surprise me if he actually sells. Totally but if he were, you could see him deliberately hanging on till after the deadline.
  7. Would it surprise anyone if he waited till after the transfer window shuts to actually sell ?
  8. Shouldnt mess with The Equalizer like that.
  9. Is he actually making millions out of us though? Really? He’s costing us millions, but I doubt he’s making millions. Unless you can explain otherwise? Advertising revenue and merchandising seemingly routed through sports direct (like he did at Rangers) could account for millions.
  10. ’I’m about to sell to one of the richest people in the world’ is hardly going to get people to bid to buy the club. It could if the other party values it higher than "the richest people in the world".
  11. The second option. He'll sell for way over the odds and thinks getting an agreed price then adding in clauses on merch and advertising will drive the real price up but just ends up with prospective buyers saying no.
  12. No, it's because its MY football club. no it isn't. you have boycotted and don't go.. you have no say. Fuck off man. It's our football club because we've supported it all our lives, that won't stop because we refuse to fund the man who is destroying the very fabric of the club. Like I said, I'm conflicted. I'd expect most people with a conscience to be, if you think you can deal with it then that's fine. To act as if it's virtue signalling or in some way contrived to feel uncomfortable about this, I'd be looking at myself if I were you. you would go and enjoy the matchday experience again like we all will. where the money comes from isn't our concern. It obviously is or this thread wouldn't exist.
  13. "terrible things".....those arent terrible things.
  14. Well put, very much where I am.
  15. No, it's because its MY football club. no it isn't. you have boycotted and don't go.. you have no say. Boycotters have far more say than those that are giving Ashley money. interesting theory. so how are they going to get back in when their seats now belong to someone else? Presumably you don’t want Ashley gone as you’re still actively supporting him? So logically those that did the most to remove him, deserve the success that might come from a diff owner? Or should you be rewarded because you trekked 20 mins on a metro into town and went to the match? supported worse regimes than Ashley since 1981. support the club through thick and thin should always be the mantra. the boycotters should be banned for life for turning their back on the club rather than turning up when it gets good again. Worse regimes in what way ? I can put up with an owner not running the club as I see fit, McKeag etc but I'd say hes of a differing level human to Ashley and then again to MBS. and I'm still a season ticket holder at least till the 10yr deal runs out.
  16. No, it's because its MY football club. no it isn't. you have boycotted and don't go.. you have no say. Wrong.
  17. No, it's because its MY football club.
  18. 'Khashoggi deserved it' will be the shirt sponsor and that will be fine by all nufc fans. success is everything. Not by all.
  19. I'm guessing boo boy wasnt being entirely serious re Pol Pot etc and theres plenty on the takeover thread whod be quite happy with MBS.
  20. It doesnt matter how wealthy they are if they arent willing, as opposed to cant, match his price and probably more importantly, terms.
  21. Any contract can be bought out or cancelled if both parties agree. It should be especially easy to agree the cancellation when he's in charge of both companies. Of course they can be but Ashley will want an overall price for in excess of it's worth, which, imo, is why the other deals have collapsed.
  22. Depends if the atrocities were committed on club grounds I think. So its possibly the name "Gallowgate" that's attracted them.
  23. Did we though? I’d say most of the players KK bought re-sold for a big profit usually. Only Shearer comes across as the obvious one we didn’t but then he was basically paid for by Adidas and the Breweries. If someone can be arsed I’d be interested to see KK net spend during his first spell here... Off the top of my head the only big profit I can remember was Andy Cole. And that's just the fee, FFP is more than just transfer fees
