  1. Only by those that dont watch. Theres a few of those sorts of player, managers and those that watch games appreciate them though.
  2. Fair enough. Theres every chance I'd see it different if it was the other way round ?
  3. I dont think its contact that causes Kane to fall but the lack of it.
  4. Out of control yes, just seemed he impeded him by not being there to lean against when Kane thought hed have to. Why else would it not be given ?
  5. But does Lascallles prevent Kane from doing that or does Kane lose balance because hes expecting to have to lean off the defender so leans in and theres no one there. I think that's what VAR saw, made to look worse by his putting his leg over to make it look worse than it was.
  6. Thought it was a pen at the time but theres one particular angle where it looks like Kane leans in and because Lascelles isnt there, because hes already fallen, it makes Kane go down and then he seems to deliberately put his leg over Lascalles to make it more likea foul than it was.
  7. Whenever we get something off a superior team it's always because they played poorly. As I posted earlier this was as Benitez a performance as we've seen.
  8. That was as Benitez a performance as you'll see. Not that Bruce is Rafa but he may have the sense to copy what worked.
  9. Love it when commentators and ex pros dont know the rules. Danny Rose scissor on Almiron, got the ball possibly but from behind f and dangerous scissor tackle. A straight red not so long ago.
  10. In all fairness he usually played behind the striker at Atlanta. The trouble is, who the fuck is going to supply him? Played his best here though a little wider in a tougher league.
  11. I like the look of the lad but at the end of the day he will be judged on the number of assists and goals. Pressure is on him and under Bruce that may be a problem. He should be judged by how he plays, especially when in his better position.
  12. They didn't play well as such but they did carve them open a few times, if they can do that to Liverpool... Every team will have a decent chance or two against better teams, it's often the taking of them that's the difference. Even at our worst in the past I've seen us carve out chances against the better teams.
  13. If we play the same formation as Sunday, draw or defeat. Back to 5-2-3 (or 5 -2-2-1 if you want) and draw or we win. Start Almiron and Saint maximin, drop Shelvey and try a little of when we were decent last season. Dont get the "Norwich played well at Liverpool" people. They were very poor till Liverpool eased right off.

    Sunderland

Out of todays starting 11, I've heard of 4 of them. I recognise the names of 5 of their subs.
  15. Bruce has been playing 1 or 2 forwards in pre-season though. We won’t see Miggy-Joey-Maxi together I’m afraid. Maybe because he didnt have anyone hed want to put there ? Now he has.
  16. Official gate will be tickets sold which i think will be approx 42/43K. A proportion of season tick holders won't actually go and the actual gate will be something like 38/39K I'll be there and don't care whether anyone else goes or doesn't go. Not to be an arsehole, but why exactly will you be there on Sunday? I’m guessing it’s because he wants to watch a game of football played by the team that he loves. I’m not going myself, but to be honest I wish I was. This. I can't understand how you can still "love" the team in its current incarnation. It exists to merely exist to allow Ashley to plaster his tatty adverts all over the ground. The club is sold as a stepping stone to prospective players. That is not what NUFC was about and it never should be. If you're happy to fund that then fair enough. It's immensely disappointing that some people are wearing their continued support of the team as a badge of honour while others are trying to make a stand for the greater good of the club's future. You can still love the team and the players and Newcastle United as a whole...of course you can. Just because it’s being run badly doesn’t mean you can’t still have an emotional attachment to it. Like it or not, boycotting is never ever going to work. There’s just nowhere near enough appetite for it. Even if there’s 40k there on Sunday, I’d wager there’d still be close to 50k the next home game. I don’t really fully understand why Mike Ashley will care to be honest. He cares about Sports Direct...that’s all. I have given up my season ticket, but i’ll Still go from time to time. Because I want to. And I want to take my lad. Given theres supposed to be 11,000 unsold season tickets, I'd like to think he'd look at any boycott as "if we get relegated theres probably 20 to 25000 people not coming back if we go down and in the championship that counts for a lot of the clubs turnover", and that could well affect him and his other businesses financially.
  17. Higher rated throughout his time here, I know that doesnt count for much at that age and level, was supposed to more crafted and technical than his brother who was more of a workhorse with a decent long range shot. Would be great for them both to come through and fulfill their potential as locals coming through the ranks

    Sunderland

I envy them for looking forward to the new season tbh. They arent . Its Sunderland remember, where no matter what happens it's better than here. Thay are in a heap of shit worse than us and can convince themselves of any manner of bullshit to get through their day.
  19. Northerner by birth then. South of the Tyne is a Southerner to me.

    Stanley Nsoki

So would I.......but I think he'll have other (better) options.
  21. To be fair it was a second string out on the main. Wonder how much PSG are offering. Surprised it hasn't been spun into an N'soki story.
  22. It's one of the shittest modern things in football in a long line of shit modern things in football. I remember home and away V mackems 1980. Roker sea front was like an andy capp cartoon fight, just a huge cloud of dust with feet and fists sticking out.
  23. No you dont. Hes played 4 at the back before and 5. Maybe he just plays whatever he thinks will get the best from what he has.
  24. Yes, we already saw the impact Almiron had in this regard. Joelinton will also adds some of this ability too now, as he can get on the ball and can take players on with it as well. If we do get Saint-Maximin, the three of them could cause a lot of problems. How would they be on the pitch at the same time though. His 3-5-2 doesn’t have a front 3 3-2-3 with 2 wingbacks ?
