Made some good interceptions by stepping round his man which has been lacking this season but a couple of times the language rumour was given some proof by seemingly terrible communication.

Does give thought for those who thought because we had a profit from transfers last summer that we still have that as cash sitting in a few tesco bags for life ready to splurge this summer. As Benitez was reportedly told he could use the money generated from sales as he saw fit, that viewpoint is as valid now as it was then to be honest. A. If true and B. what if he was told he could spend any surplus's the club generated, sounds similar but the devil is in the detail.

If the 4th official and Assistant didn't say he was wrong and try to talk him out of it should they be dropped/sacked/hung aswell ?

Wouldn't that happen either way for accounting purposes (amortization) ? Probably wrong, I'm not in the finance business and just trying to remember back when the finances of the club were a major talking point.
-
fwiw aswell, I didn't know till checking at half time that rule about an indirect free kick being awarded for an attacking teams encroachment if they miss the penalty and neither did anyone else I spoke to.

That's not what happened though. He had no intention of giving a pen until the linesman flagged. Oooh I'm not sure about that. Why would he continue runninginto the box ? My personal view is he knew all eyes in the stadium were on him at that very instant and he milked it for all it was worth.

There's a big difference between misjudging a foul and ignorance about a fairly basic law of the game. Particularly when it seems that the fourth official was trying to help him out. That's what the fuss is about. Whatever you think about their competence, referees at that level are dedicated individuals, and the bloke must be feeling crap. He will have devoted a major part of his life to reaching that level. Luckily for him, it didn't affect the result. I think you've took what I've said a little too literally What I was trying to point out that no one seemed to of mentioned from the few pages I read was that it wasn't a penalty in the first place. It definitely was a penalty like. From my seat, within 20 metres of it, Gayle is clearly looking for the defender to make contact and goes down as soon as he gets it, but he 100% clipped his legs. Was there enough contact to make Gayle fall ? Doesn't look like it to me. Please don't go down the Michael Owen "there was contact" route as that's actually cheating. I think so, yes. At the speed he was running it doesn't take much. It's the way he emphasises his fall that ironically makes it look more dubious. At the time I thought he dived and even after watching it a few times I can't make my mind up. He certainly made the most out of it and I have a feeling if he'd have been headin directly towards goal he may not have hit the deck.

I think Neesy is taking the mick out of some Spurs fans there hindu.

Stroud was annoying in a Neil Midgely style of "everyones come to see me". Watch when he gives the pen, how long it takes him, he's running towards the spot, keeps running waits for all eyes to be on him..........then gives it. Then if you get a chance watch him as he blows for the kick itself, he does like a lunge and point as he blows for the lick to be taken.

Nope Why "nope"? Sky Sports are showing that there has been a precedent in this, where England ladies had to go down this route. It just wouldn't happen, it wouldn't even happen if it had been awarded against Chelsea.

Not sure about his team in that as they seemed to trying talk him out of it.

Aguero.

Won't be happy till it's certain. They still have Boro, Hull and Swansea to play.

Poor Moyes, he'll be thinking "Fuck, what do I have to do to get sacked without being put away ?"
-
I said to friends yesterday that I'd backed them to stop up a while back as insurance. Quite happy to lose £10. Surprised by how many had done the same thing. Got to wonder if more NUFC fans backed them to stop up than them ?

Colin Veitch ? Think that's one for Mick. He was better than Lee Ryder. True....but eh ?
-
Let me guess, some "none they are all scum" some" a few but they never go to games" and one or two "loads of mag mates but only one or two go to games whereas every SAFCer I know goes home and away" ?

Can't remember the last time we cruised to a 1 goal win without a panicy last 10mins. Edit....I mean this was the first in a long time.
-
Boro fans I know rave about him, very solid, gives little away and has a bit about him going forward.....and I guess young enough to improve under decent coaching.

The Stuarts next to me looked quite worried. Not that they'd have done anything for all intensive purposes.
