He finished the season in a Premiership side in s*** hot form and he still got omitted. Shit hot form ? 6 games unbeaten in which we played well in 1 game that counted for anything. His own personal form should have seen him in if only because he offers stuff we don't have on the bench.

Krul had been poor for a while but Elliot still hasn't really been better than him. He's just not good enough at this level, he's not tall enough, doesn't dive well, horrendously slow off his line, positioning not the best. Decent shop stopped as almost all professional footballers are and decent reflexes. He's just not very good. State of this post It's 100% accurate. That's why he was named player of the year and didn't drop any clangers when he was playing for us? Darlow cost us more points in the games he played than Elliot did. Nonsense. Once Darlow had a run he showed he was clearly better than Elliot, he also has the potential to get a fair bit better. Long term I don't think he'll be good enough be our number 1 though. I agree with that....apart from thre "showed he was clearly better than Elliot" bit. If we were in the prem, keeper would be one of the major positions we'd be looking at, as it is I'd keep Darlow as no.1 for his potential and he's already done it at that level.

Get your point but Elliot done it for longer and showed up when we were really shite. If we want to narrow it down so much it's be Wojnaldum or Sissoko for the Norwich at home game.

Based on what he's said or how he played ? Player of the season just about deserved.....says a lot about last season.

I've mentioned similar before and as yet we dont have a leader on the pitch. Lascalles stood up a bit towards the end of the season but we need more .

He did yes, but it's not the English Championship in 2016. The teams in our second tier, and the money they have, bears no resemblance to the Spanish Segunda Division. Look he may do amazingly, I don't know, and I can see why Newcastle fans are chuffed, but it's not a given that he'll bring you straight back up. I bet you hope you don't sign Messi, untried in this league etc?

On the downside, last time we were relegated I got 6/1 on us winning the title. 5/2 currently the best odds.

Just this season ? Last time we were in the Championship I watched more Spanish and German football than our Premier.
