Aye but just wait until we sign him. The Paraffins will be lining up to say how crap he was. tbf the thread is about him signing for us. Maybe that means he's brilliant ?
-
Just had a quick look on RTG and they seem to think he's not so bad. Honestly don't know enough about him to say much else.
-
Shitting hell man...I thought it was Alan Judge the keeper from the olden days when I read the thread title.
-
Unless they have a contingency for the players head getting turned and feel they can stgrengthen with the cash . Going in dedline day would be pointless. Beating them on Saturday, if we had the intention of seriously bidding for him, could help make a difference.
-
Wouldn't be surprised if he/they got premier league offers before the window shuts. They wouldn't sell him to us before Saturday but I'd like to test them with 15million on Saturday night and see what his/their reaction is.
-
Thats exactly how a couple of mates who went described it.
-
Totally this. It seems like we've been playing so far waiting for his suspension to end.
-
This game sounded (had to rely on Radio Newcastle) like a hark back to our last start in the Championship. We weren't good but the opposition never seemed like scoring and we took enough chance(s) to win.
-
Mbemba was much better with the ball, bringing it out and we need that with teams sitting back against us. Huddersfield had 10 in their own half and one just inside ours when we had a goal kick ....we still had Shelvey coming back to get the ball off the back 4 about 30yds out.
-
Does it matter ? He leads without the armband. Just making a point like, people didn't seem too happy with Dummett as captain Yeah I didn't see the point in Dummett as captain. Some thrive with the responsibilty, some lead regardless. Dummet showed nothing to make you want to give him the captaincy again.
-
I thought when bringing Lascalles on we'd go to three at the back and push the full backs right on as an experiment type thing. Nope it was a flat back 5....then Colback. Too cautious, lets get after games and teams.

Still don't understand why we signed him AND Hanley.....unless Mbemba is leaving.
-
Unreal that mind, if there were no penalties at that point he would have given it Wouldn't. Refs hate giving pens when the ball isn't close by. It was a pen but it would never be given.
-
Too right about being a leader. Constsntly talking and organising and lead by playing example.
-
Squad player in the Champonship. Nee problem with that.
-
Looking forward to getting this out the way, Scraping a win would be great (never thought I'd type that a month or so ago) then with a Mitrovic or other it'll be like starting the season afresh.
-
Serious ? I'd be very surprised if we didn't bring two in. I think Rafa would walk if we brought no other forwards in.
-
Not good but better and hopefully giving confidence.
-
TBF the Sissoko situation could be holding things up but not necessarily in a "need to sell to buy" scenario. Yes, we'd have more money to spend and that could alter things, also if he didn't leave that could alter what we need to bring in.
-
The latter issue was his problem. He was rarely fouled, just muscled off the ball, like he was at the end of last season. Not sure if he's been sussed out or if he's lost the desire ?
-
unfortunately knockaert may think he has a better chance of making it to the premiership if he stays on the south coast. 4 games in, huge pay rise, bigger club. Don't be too surprised if he's gone by September, even to a prem club.
-
Still think we'll go back for Knockaert after we've played Brighton. Their good start won't help us aas they'll be confident they don't need the money to strengthen. If they'd struggled so far they may have been a bit more tempted.
-
Anyone who wants Rafa sacked basically has no clue about football. Has anyone said they want him sacked ? Credit where it's due, criticism likewise.
-
Get rid of the cautious approach, get at them, get midfielders in and around the box. Keegan/Robson philosophy and we'll be allright.
