As I've said before, if they do stay up, it'll be an incredible turnaround (when you look at those stats) They've nee chance though sounds hard when you put it that way, not so hard when you say they are 3 points from "safety".

The flat 4-4-2 with Shola was fine in the first half, we created plenty of chances. Had some bad moments defensively mind. The problem in the second half wasn't the formation, it was that we stopped pressing, sat deep and invited pressure. I don't hate Pardew but I get totally p*ssed off when we get a lead and do this. Its ridiculous, has cost us points and we show no signs of changing it. was it a decision to do that today though, gouffran can't keep up the pressure for 90, cabaye's substitution was more fatigue than tactical and sissoko had been away aswell. do you think the plan is to sit so deep after taking a lead ? seemed like we ran out of legs more than anything tactical. Lost count of how many times I've read this post in the last three years. majority of the time you'd probably have had a point, not sure about today though.

  7. quite simple really, san lorenzo come up with a suitable fee knowing we wont want his full market worth with his age and desire to leave, or he can do what he wants but we retain his registration.
  8. what made me feel old was the amount of grounds I've been to that wont ever be visited again...................by anyone!

  11. If you can find it John Gibsons "The Newcastle United FC story" is a must for Newcastle fans. Mainly a game by game from the fairs cup run with other chapters on the Tyne Wear derbies , Players etc. I wouldn't pay more than a fiver for it but a good rwad about that era.
  12. tempted but worried it'll be like freakonomics, review needed, ie buy it then tell me.
  13. http://www.footballgroundmap.com/madras didn't put in the local non leaguers, or deepdale for some reason and that was my first away game!
  14. graham wallace ex finance fella at man city has been appointed to "stabalise" things at rangers. bearing in mind wallace joined man city after the abu dhabi takeover, I'd imagine him to sit at his desk on his first morning, pick up the phone and say to his secretary "get the owners please andf tell them to give us 1 billion pounds"
  15. so then, which generlised load of BS will be more prevelent on here over the next few months............our frenchies are.......... ....playing crap because they don't want to get injured and miss the world cup ? or .... only playing well so they get picked for the world cup ?
  16. and since when did they bercome your lads ? (ladies and gentlemen, that is probably the quintessential madras line)
  17. Not getting always for cheap. He was going to Hull for ~£6m last summer until talks collapsed very late into the window. did talks collapse ? I thought it didn't go through because their deal for another year of lukaku went goodison-way and they didn't want to be left short.
  18. Every journey begins with one step even for paraplegics ?
  19. I thought the joke was that they were quite kooky looking pictures, not that they were black.
  20. a little while ago someone posted a pic of two players probably from the 1930's, i posted in repley to it that it was Incognito and mick, that wasn't seen as racist, if one of them was black and I posted that it was Mike, by the standards of this thread it would've been seen as racist.
  21. it's supposed to go to the bank but we always put it in the middle and whoever landed on free parking first got it all.
  22. be fun if massadias piss take of taylors attempts at french were "thick geordie" or of that style.

i'll agree with you to a point but again with respect to the highlighted part - in the vast majority of games i've seen him play "mixing it up" could only entail passing it backwards then waiting for it to come back...he's still faced with the same problem when it comes back to him 'cause no-one makes runs off the ball when he's got it it's same issue we have with the following, do you believe it's only the individual, the tactics/coaching, or a combination: debuchy being terrible since he signed, not being able to mark players and committing crazy fouls cisse being neither able to stay onside nor score goals, nor even get in opportunities to score anymore tiote's outright woefulness until recently a few examples, there are more i just don't have time all of them, including HBA's issues in an attacking sense have roots in both the players deficiencies but also in the tactics and coaching imo...personally i believe all of it, especially what you mention above with HBA, could and should be coached out on the training ground and probably would be if we had better staff in key positions part of the problem is if he gives it back his movement to get a return or even pull the opposition out of shape is poor, poor movement and the opposition knowing what you are going to do massively cut down on his effectiveness. for your other examples if debuchy and tiotes form were the fault of pardew then surely their recent resurgance must be down to him aswell ?
