  1. Not really people just assumed so because he wanted to join. We wasn't even close to that deal in reality last summer. Anyway good news this is, any striker coming in has to be a positive you sure ? I thought the player alluded to lille moving the posts. anyway, gomis is a player i've often wondered how he'd do in the prem ,in the same way I wondered what allardyce would do with a bigger club, both occasions i'm not massively happy that we are to be the experiment but hey ho we need a couple of forwards and I still think he could play with cisse or up front as the point in a 3, so if it comes off he'll get my support.
  2. debuchy was close last summer wasn't he ?
  3. people wearing sky cycling tops with jeans and trainers last week.
  4. thats brilliant (on a side note has green always been associated with feyenoord like that, only ever thought of them in the red and white halves?)

I think Cisse will have been looking for a way out. The Muslim Council moaned, he's reacted and made a bit of a stand, he's been given a way out and taken it. quite possible. looking from the outside though unless he gets something out of it (ie being let off doing promo stuff, wearing training kit a la kanoute) then it just looks like he's backed down and to those further away it would like like its due to the aspers photo.

Agreed, let's pretend that the PFA working to try and sort things out have had nothing to do with a change of mind, let's put it down to the photo's. tbf mick the way our PFA works, all they'll have said is give him more money.

Why not? he's made his point, and he's also been made aware that as an employee he has certain obligations to the club that pays his wages too. A compromise is the logical solution assuming the player wants to stay here. If he wanted to leave he'd probably not have compromised at all. well, we'll see. hey, anyway, thats what i'm saying, a compromise, i doubt that means he's just decided to back down.

the bastard hermaphrodite offspring of ken dodd.
  9. Same here. This is good news as far as I'm concerned. Looks like their chairman is desperately trying to get us into an auction. it'll be more a wage auction than a transfer fee auction.

there was a compromise for kanoute, being allowed not to partake in other sponsor stuff and didn't wear the logo for training etc i think.

until we know what the compromise is I'd still be very wary. doubt he's just backed down.

i know he said stuff about not being able to play again for us but was it an official transfer request ?

Couple of people on here said it. proof then some see it as a flimsy excuse so have defaulted to N'zogbia as the last flimsy excuse. Insomnia didn't want an improved contract. bet he made a load on the move not to mention wanting out due to seeing the way the club was going, hey why not force your way out without having to put in a transfer request.

he'll be better off anyway, can't see him going to aspers for a bit.
  19. i thought that, i made myself believe he made the lad shit 10yrs out of himslef.
  20. The Paços guy reacted poorly to being wrestled to the ground by Colo from a FK when being potentially in behind our defence. It was simmering prior to this though without boiling over. in what way did he react badly, verbals, push or what ?
  21. didn't see the game, don't want to read the entire match thread, what caused it if anything ?
  22. how narrow must that kids neck be (now) ?

barclays charge £25 for going £1 overdrawn, what rate of interest is that ? not to mention the costs we've all had to incur, barclays customers or not, for their libor rigging and tax avoidance. surely after kicking up about one sponsor it's only natural to infer that he's ok with the others. That's a fine, not a loan. semantics.

What should we be blasting Wonga for? Just existing? Erm, yes? They exist and they're s***. They're also sponsoring us. Right, but that's kind of a given. You can't really 'blast' a company for existing. I don't like them, but they aren't breaking any laws and moral judgement on them is subjective at best. We're not likely to force out a sponsor by objecting to it, and I doubt strength of feeling would be strong enough anyway. Nobody should be blasting Cisse either mind. What do you mean you can't blast a company for existing? You sort of can when their entire existence is that they are a f***ing modern day loan shark, but that's besides the point. Instead of directing the focus on Cisse's hypocrisy direct it on what a s*** odious company Wonga are and how his moral or religious beliefs are perfectly reasonable. If anything is going to force some action from either Mike or Wonga it's the latter, a character assassination against Cisse just strengthens their position. if his beliefs are perfectly reasonable surely he'd refuse the barclays logo aswell ? Why do you keep bringing this up man? Barclays are probably s***s as well, aye. He hasn't got an issue with them though, probably because they don't function solely as a loan shark, I don't know. What I'm saying is bad press for Wonga will have a greater chance of forcing someones hand that bad press for Cisse, the latter is exactly what Wonga (and probably Mike) will want throughout this. It's probably too ideal a situation though. i keep bringing it up because the defences for why barclays is ok when wonga aren't have all been poor so far.
