10 new signings seems to be too little. 8 already and couple of more close. He really is getting a whole new starting XI in this window. Gonna end up as a massive disaster. The s**** they're signing this close season certainly have more exotic sounding names than the s**** they've bought in recent close seasons but aren't they really the type of players you'd expect Middlesbrough or Watford to be buying ? had a similar conversation with a mackem yesterday. he compared their signings to cabaye, sissoko, m'biwa, debuchy, cisse....all well known really before they'd signed, I put it to him their signings were more like tiote and gouffran in that not many really had a clue who they were, so naturally blindness took over and he wandered off after assuring me that even without his having a clue who they'd signed he had full faith in the scouts/fascist to get in only quality.
  2. Based on your own conjecture. It's not like Taylor is some sort of Vidic type that dominates big burly centre forwards either. Benteke had a field day against him at Villa Park. no he didn't. taylor was taking a load of flak on here at the time and so any poor play by him was magnified (the way this place often does with players who aren't forum faves). Tyalor was OK that day, looked rusty but if benteke had a field day it's one of the worst field days i've seen.

that means you hatem. Hate is such a strong word... not when spelled out with alphabetti spaghetti. anyhoo, I really like remy's style of play and think that type of forward is exactly what we are missing, mfor me that type of player is the missing link, the forward who can drop wide, play off a goalscorer and still looks to get on the end of things. I don't care he turned us down before for mega bucks as most in the same situation would've done so. the rape charge however is a different kettle of haddock and I can't really say that I'd want him here till he was cleared.

    Darren Bent

cisse done that in germany and here till last season. only room for one player like that in a team IMO. If anything I think last season proves that we definitely need a spare. Also, Bent is probably better at this job than Cisse is. i don't agree that bent is better at that role. also don't think we'd be after him as a spare. honestly think if bent comes then cisse is away.

not sure about the behaviour but the choice ? I'd imagine the majority of them would have made the same choice he did if the stories of his pay packet are anywhere near true.

    physically perhaps joey ?
  9. to hide his real age obviously as he is a footballer of african origin.
  10. tbf as far as the first team goes that other forward (though not bent) is what we need and i'd be very happy if we went into next season with our current first team and new striker. obviously the squad needs some more depth but if we are just talking first team.

Pretty easy really. mmm no its not either or both are crocked at the same time and to fit both in it tends to mean both playing off the front man but neither is any good at getting on the end of things hence, cisse isolated again. the ben arfa/marveaux combo is what I was after last season till having seen them enough to realise none of them gives any support to the striker.
  12. you'd think mispronouncing someones name would be seen as a lesser evil than mistaking them entirely. far too much being made over this when it is really the least of the concerns about him and wouldn't really be mentioned if it were someone we rated.
  13. Getting names wrong would be an excuse. No one minded when Robby bobson done it.

I've said this for a while, he should let games come to him instead of chasing them. Completely agree, the way i see it is Sissoko and Cabaye is fine but its that other piece of the puzzle in regards to that midfield. Tiote doesn't fill it and Anita doesn't seem to be trusted. Then of course there's the obviously striker and width problem, then hoping Pardew can make it work which i don't have much confidence in. I live in hope anyway. thats because with sissoko pushed forward in support of cisse we've had to mess about with the middle. get someone else who has it in him to get in the box but not necessarily play up top through the middle, give ben arfa or merveaux a freer role and anita-sissoko-cabaye in the middle, all three comfortable on the ball, can defend (which means more than just winning tackles), can pick the ball up off the defenders.

same problem as last season imo, only cisse in the box or looking to get on the end of anything or sissoko like last season looking out of place when playing that role.
  16. not sure we will if we get a forward of the remy/aubameyang type

Difficult to judge technical footballers under a manager who operates long ball tactics. If you don't understand the difference just think back to how Keegan transformed the Newcastle team left by Sam Allardyce. The same set of players looked totally different under a manager who played them to their strengths. agree with that in a way but i'd like to think it's more due to the team being unbalanced attacking wise, hence sissoko out of position thus cabaye not being in the role we'd want. if we play the same way after (?) we get in that supporting striker then I'd fasll in line with the majority on here re pardew.
  18. more of a problem could be others have seen the same and a) could be prepared to pay him more, b) in a better position than us, c) we may not like to go back to him after he turned us down last season.
  19. if bent comes in it means cisse is away imo and we'd still be needing that remy style forward who can play wide of a central striker and get on the end of things.

    Derek Llambeezy

seems like he's had some grief about "you don't speak for me" as he's stressing they are his own personal views and if so why give him so much time if he's not speaking for the fans ?

wont be worth anything but I didn't mind him so much, for all I've little idea what his remit was I've often thought he got the dogs abuse because he was an ashley appointment at the time we were possibly more toxic that we currently are.

christ thats a tough run of home fixtures-except us obviously Those are the games they pick up decent points in. i think (haven't checked) we got more points from our home games V those teams.

    Alan Pardew

heard it wasa 50p up front, 50p on completion of 50 games or 2020 whichever comes first.
