  1. Beats me why you aren't a premier league coach.
  2. And not take too seriously what anybody else posts (at least in the footy section).
  3. Wouldn't say single handed but I get your point.
  4. Relying on 3yr ago Murphy yeah. Not Murphy of the last year/ 18month.
  5. Yeah, too right, we shouldn't be looking at any talents for the future or squad until we have what we need for the first XI.
  6. You don't think up to 90mill for Mitoma is fishy ? At that rate Murphy is a 75mill player.
  7. Do you not think at times " we were lucky there, got to play better than that in future". You see, I get nervous when we win playing shit because you can rarely keep it up, where as if you play well consistently, creating good chances the wins tend to come. It's just a guide for me, a one that you don't need because you've never said " we were lucky there" or "we were robbed".
  8. So you don't watch games and think "they were all over them and still got beat, they created loads of great chances against one half chance" ? If you hadn't watched our game V PSG away you'd think 1-1, quite even where as they had the majority of the play and created loads of good chances which was reflected in the xG
  9. No because a shot from 3yds out with no keeper rates higher than a 30yd dribbler that the keeper throws his hat on.
  10. It's not like that at all, it just gives you a description of a game that's been played in stat form. Like I've said many times before, we've all had those conversations "how did we lose that when we had etc etc" all xG does is put it in stat form. It can be handy for games you didn't see.

If it's not particular offensive and I can use it as a kind of shorthand then I guess it's OK

Is using the term "Ken" Misandrystic ?

I use Karen (Ken) and Gammon regularly. I look forward to your pulling me up for it.

You wouldn't have thought using that term would be a ""pulled up" offence.
  16. Over time yes. Wouldn't want to get rid of Willock or Longstaff at this point of the season with quite a bit at stake. Obviously depends on the offer but under 10mill for Longstaff right now ? I'd keep up till the summer.

Is "Karen" an insult of that ilk ? It's more like "Gammon"

    St James' Park

Wea actually discussed this recently in our pre match pub. What we came up with was, if we get a new stadium in the city centre or the revamp is such that there's loads on space on the concourses etc and the beer and food is good, we may go up 30mins early and ha e one there, for the clubs coffers and all that.

You can get Brewdog cans in the Milburn now. Not sure of the price.
  20. I'm happy to trust my own eyes on game I watch (and the xG is usually in i e with that) trusting my eyes doesn't help much on games I don't see but want to get a handle on what happened ie for gambling purposes. Say if team A has won its last three games 1-0 but had an xG of 0.1 against 5.0 in each game, I may not be so confident on them being in good form as opposed to maybe Bruceing a game or two.
  21. Re the "could have played all night and not scored" stuff it's a football fan thing to say that as a team misses chance after glorious chance. .........then when one goes in "it was coming, we've had the chances".
  22. You'll have to get me the stats, if we largely restricted them to wild shots from 20yds their xG woukdne have been so high. I'm struggling to believe you've never took part in one of those " how did we win/not win with all the great chances we/they had compared to ours/theirs" conversations, it's the essence of the smash and grab, the we woz robbed that happens the footballing world over.
