  1. Steve Harper - "A few very, very good supporters of the club insisted perhaps in the long run relegation would turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Perhaps they were right." Blimey. saying relegation could turn out to be a good thing once it's happened and we are recovering from it is different to saying we needed it. Are you saying nufc_geordie isn't using an element of hindsight in what he said? possibly but there were a few who were saying it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing even before we were relegated.

  3. ...because Coloccini has done more this season, is the simple answer. Did or didn't Taylor play very well this season up until his knee injury? Not particularly. I remember him as being decidedly average this season. Ah well I remember him being better than that for this division. Maybe a statto fiend can come up with average goals conceded with Taylor playing compared to goals conceded without. not that that would prove anything.
  4. He always looked a bit out of his depth with us, I was staggered to see how many goals he has scored this season, quite incredible. Happy for him, though, always had a good attitude. 7 of those goals are penalties. plus he's a bit of a nolan in that statistically he looks good but when i've watched him he's not been anything special.

Won't it just run off BT lines? normally all the ones that are around that price do. it's how the price seems so small as they conviently forget to include that in their advertising blerb.
  7. Some people are unbelievable. Given should have left long before he did. It's sickening to see the bitterness after all he did for the club/community etc. he may well have left earlier had a credible offer came in for him. my guess is he stayed because we were the best deal on offer rather than loyalty or love of the club. he's a millionaire many times over, why try to screw the club over for a loyalty payment ? i'm not too bothered about the timing, just the fact that he was clearly trying to engineer a amove whilst trying to get the extra payment aswell.

isn't this tie in not similar to the football club reated credit cards that have been round for years ?
  9. if we go 3-1 down and have a man sent off...i'm on the pitch.

  11. as oposed to it's hair wasn't lanky and it didn't smash it's bottle into its mothers face.
  12. oooooh my schizophrenia is kicking in (got west brom in a double with chelsea)
  13. So it's gone from him texting her to now wanting to shag her. I wonder how long it will be before Carroll becomes the hero. Depends how many more goals he scores to be honest. Football over morals. What about Taylor's lack of morality if he has been texting Carroll's lass? if you go out with a mates ex you know something will happen........if true.
  14. kk didn't have to make many tough decisions. kelly wasn't good enough and peacock left on compassion.
  15. best get rid of carroll for a fee if he's going to continue belting anyone he thinks is a t***. thoguht the comments about Taylor were interesting though. Again though, dont know how reliable it is. interesting that of the 5 players who allegedly wanted taylor sold , i'd only expect 2 to be here come september (only one-harper- prefereably) well four of those 5 are apparentlty the leaders of the dressing room, i suppose shola would be too as he's the 2nd longest at the club, if that is true then perhaps its how the rest of the players felt, after all for someone who broke a teammates jaw carroll wasnt exactly hated by the rest on the pitch was he? it rarely happens. even players who were hated by others still had their goals celebrated.
  16. That is absolute s****. Which keeper were they going to sign? It was the end of the transfer window when he signed. He could have signed in the summer, Man City would have waited 4 months if they really wanted him. All Shay was interested in was himself, and he let us down by s***-stirring, lying to the fans and then engineering an injury to keep him out of the Man City game before signing for them. Pretty much all of that is speculation. End of the transfer window when he signed yes. Could have been negotiating for a while. If he said no early on they would have looked elsewhere. A team with Man City's money could have got almost any keeper. They weren't going to wait around. It's really not as simple as saying 'no I don't want to sign at the moment but can you please buy me in summer? Pretty pleeeaaasssseee!?' it is that simple that he could have put in a transfer request when he wanted to leave as opposed to having his solicitor issuing statements that would leave given to still pick up his bonus.
  17. he could probably have gone earlier had he put a transfer request in when he decided he wanted away instead of doing everything bar to try and get as much cash as possible.

  20. To blame for a couple of the goals. We won 1-0. he knows. pointing out the silliness of the bold. harper had a decent game but his kicking was crap. On't radio they were speculating that Harper was told to kick first time. Just hoof it out, don't try to control. I dunno. even out of his hands it was poor. as if he found a cross wind that no one else could find.
  21. i thought he looked decent at right back last season and was a decent premiership centre half. too good for the championship and not good enough for the national squad.
  22. and i hate him as i've frequently pointed out in the pet hates thread.
