He's going to be odds on for the job at this rate.

The Union Rooms (Wetherspoons) is handy for the train station... Is it likely to be quietish the night of a derby though, or full of roaring drunk maniacs? Love eating and drinking in the Town Wall at the moment, just opposite central up Pink Lane. Whats the town wall like and where is it? And again, what sort of atmosphere will it be on the eve of the derby? Cheers Should be more laid back than places like the gate or Weatherspoons. More expensive mind. Their website has a map etc. Always got a canny selection of beers on. http://www.thetownwall.com/ Food's only served till 7pm on Saturday though.

Reading their forums there seems to be a range of opinions but a general understanding of what the problem is. Or maybe they just seem really reasonable because the last other club's forum I looked at to gauge reaction to soemthing was the RAWK hivemind.

Fucking wankers. So now I've got Saturday as leave which I don't need and I'm working the Norwich match.
-
Also interesting that the shirt sponsors are uncomfortable about it, shows it's not as simple as Less History = More Corporate Money
-
Frothing at the mouth over that on RAWK, predictably.

Fingers crossed the radgies are back again tonight.

If Freddie had done this you would be at Barrack Road with a pitchfork and a flaming torch.
-
Could genuinely have been the lad at the bus stop asking me how much it was to get back to Killingworth Nah sorry mate, i thought we were doing an 'I'M SPARTACUS' thing I mean the radgie who did the spraying

I was on Barrack road at 6:30pm. Wasn't me.

i can worry about a couple of things at once, this is one of them. ta So you are not worried about Argentina's stance over the Falkland Islands and another possible invasion of the islands, which we cannot allow, the way Syria is bombing and killing its own people in order to prop up a despotic dictatorship, Iran developing nuclear weapons which could very well lead to a nuclear holocaust in the middle east, as Israel are sabre rattling as I write this. Our soldiers being killed or maimed by the Taliban in Afghanistan, then there are the austerity measures imposed by the current government, the state of the Euro, and in particular Greece ( dont overlook the fact that if you plan on going to Greece for your hols this summer, you wont be able to use a credit card to pay for meals etc. Its cash only!). If none of this causes you the slightest moment of concern all I can say is you live a very insular life or you have found a very comfortable hole in the sand! Why are you so worked up about what people think of the renaming? Is it really that important to you? In the time you spent writing those 165 words you could have tried thinking of a cure for cancer.

Excellent. Hope if they put an SDA sign up it gets trashed, splashed with black and white paint and set ahad on a regular basis as well.

@LiterallyJamie Suarez missed that penalty like it was a black man's handshake.
-
So how long does it have to be in Sports Direct Arena limbo without securing the appropriate funding before you conceed it was the incorrect decision?
-
And that punishment is basically anything they like So he could be given 240 hours community service and a £5000 fine at the top end (which you would assume would be for a hardcore bomber who's caused thousands of pounds of damage). At the bottom end he could have been given a £80 fixed penalty notice on the spot and not prosecuted. I can't think of many instances of graffiti more minor than putting two words on a wall in emulsion in one instance.

Its only stupid financially if you can't manage the PR, otherwise the potential benefits are huge - 100% profit on something? Yes please from a business perspective. Maybe he can follow it up by asking if anyone would like to buy advertising space on the side of a bulldozer which is demolishing an orphanage, as long as he gets the PR right. You got me there, I can see how the 2 things are the same Okey doke, let's wait and see which companies want their name associated with a beloved local monument having its name changed and images of goons in fleeces wrenching an iconic sign from a wall with a crow bar as security stewards protect him from a baying mob of the same Jo Public they want to sell their wares to. Is money not going in the same as money being taken out? Remember when we used to have billboards all around the ground, each one being paid for by one of a multitude of commercial companies putting money into the club in return for having their name on that board? Notice how about 80% of them have now been replaced by freebie adverts for one company instead? How much revenue do you think that's losing us? Each Sports Direct hoarding (however many they are - if you're ever at a match that goes into extra time you might have time to count them) is one hoarding that's no longer bringing us in revenue.
-
You can't do that, people would just call them the Tyne Bridge and Gray's Monument if you leave any of the original name there. You'd need to make the Tyne Bridge the Argos Tunnel and Grey's Monument the Sony Statue.

An Ashley apologist is exactly what you are, just because the fat cockney bastard has made himself rich by exploiting people and selling tat to charvas doesn't give him the right to piss all over the history of the club. But, but, we're in the top 6 man. All is forgiven. And we're going to be there forever, just like the stadium name has changed forever, so it's all fine.
-
It's stupid from a PR perspective, it's stupid from a financial perspective, it's stupid from a business perspective. People aren't complaining because they don't see the bigger picture, they're complaining because they do.

Suerly it can't be that big of a fine, I'd chip in a couple of quid.

"Goal of the season" Aye, if he deliberately sent it going wide to deflect it off an Arsenal players chest to beat the keeper then give it to him now
-
Just make John Terry player manager and Lampard his assistant and be done with it, saves having to sift through CVs every 6 months.
