I pledge a legions to the flag

What a bunch of little knackers. You can clearly hear some of the older heads shouting at them to get off the fucking pitch at least, charver wankers. (Talking about the .nu footage)
-
People made similar weak attempts at satire a few years ago "Oh no, we're dooooommmed we're gonna get relegated into the Championship, Mike Ashley doesn't know what he's doing, we're not gonna replace N'Zogbia and Milner with anyone oh nooooessss!"
-
If the Naylor deal is dead in the water? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_7035778,00.html EDIT: Wait, he's a rightback. Sure he played on the left for Spurs reserves at one point but maybe I've had a brain failure.
-
Because it counts as a fantastic, endorphin releasing success if you're a person who gets their kicks from business rather than football. Buying a player for £3.5m and selling him after a season for £15m = Ashley pulls shirt over head and runs around the pitch with his arms outstretched shouting "GGGOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLLLL!" When he's making clothes he doesn't want to win London fashion week or be acknowledged as the guy behind the most fantastic trackie-bottoms the world has ever seen, he wants to buy pants from an Indian factory for 30p a pair and sell them for £5 a pair.
-
Paper bollocks can be a self fulfilling prophecy though. People start talking about it, players start wondering what life would be like at the other club, agents start seeing dollar signs, potential buying club becomes more confident of doing a deal...
-
If this were to happen then it has to be Sturridge plus cash and we'd have to spend the cash on getting a ready-to-go replacement for Tiote. Sadly, I can imagine we'll do what we did when we wanted Johnson from City and we'll just let ourselves be fucked over, then decide we'll try and replace him with a Tiote mk2, ie a cheapo we cross our fingers and hope suddenly becomes amazing.
-
Bet it won't happen.
-
Saw some twitter bollocks about a deal for Sturridge with Tiote going the other way over the weekend I believe.
-
Would much rather keep him. What will we spend 1.5 million on? Cleaning the Barrack Road windows? Wages for staff at the club shop?
-
Wait, since when is Roger Johnson worth 7m and since when do wolves have 7m to spend on a defender?
-
I really don't understand what I'm supposed to be jealous about, that board is melting my brain
-
Isn't the way to keep squad players to tell them if they prove themselves they can become an important first team player?
-
'It's up to them if they want to move or not" still means they're free to go and we may end up without squad players, unless we're willing to replace them all on top of the numbers we're already short of.
-
Fringe players, aka squad players. Are we going to replace them? We had to rely on Best and Ranger to at least fill a spot on the bench for nearly all of last year and so far I can't see us going into next season with more match ready men than we had last year.
-
It's not that he isn't a talent, it's that he so far doesn't seem willing to put the effort in to develop that talent.
-
Bet they send it to my old address, in spite of me updating it online.
-
Tiote is shit, until Mag At Work says he's having a medical at Arsenal, when he's the best player we've had since Milburn and we'll go down without him.
-
Sounds like we might be getting Bendtner then, he's the most offensive player we've been linked with. I think (hope) that Pardew means that if you add up the money spent when the window shuts and think we've not spent the £35m you'll be way off in that quote.
-
Sylvain Marveaux was only the start of it Cabaye and Abeid, now they're a part of it Now you've done it You've signed for Alan Pardew And you and you And Demba Ba Demba-Demba-Demba Ba Demba-Demba-Demba Ba...
-
That is a thing of beauty.

Would the club be more marketable as a bunch of bargain basement nobodies kicking around with the dregs of the premier league, or being on foreign TV every week playing good football with exciting players? Seems like the kind of people willing to invest in a football club are not really people who get their excitement from balance sheets alone. Yeah I'm not excited at all by the prospect of Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Cabaye, Ba and Tiote next season, bunch of bargain basement nobodies with no hope of playing good Football.. I'm not saying that's what we don't have good players, I'm trying to explore this suggestion that marketability has a direct corrolation to the amount of debt cleared and nothing else - that the best way to court a buyer is through agressively reducing the debt. That it's as simple as buying an asset like a good player for £9m makes us 9,000,000 marketability points less attractive, while putting that money into clearing debt makes us 9,000,000 markability points more attractive.

Good old M.A.W makes an apperance again I imagine him as a semi-transparent guy in a top hat and a toon shirt sitting on the shoulder of every RTG poster as they chat away to him while people on the bus slowly edge away from the loon talking to himelf.
