sunderland - arsenal is crap. There's few things I want to see less on a saturday morning than andy reid fatting around a pitch and sunderland getting points.

The consensus, almost from day one, was that Souness cunted into the club and tried to manage like an army colonel -- e.g. respect through pulling rank, instilling fear and intimidation. I haven't heard a bit of that about or from Joe yet. My take on Joe is he's trying to appeal to whatever professional pride might exist in the squad. To get them at least playing, if not for the club, then for themselves. Frankly, if they've lost that, then he has no hope regardless -- soft touch or not. My original post didn't make the assumption that JK would try to manage like Souness, it was more of a comment that if he wants to be a success, he should play nice, whereas what you are quoting is my response to the attitude that Kinnear should be blasting his players if necessary. Just want to make that clear. I'm well aware of what I'm quoting; I just hate quote pyramids. Lighting a fire under players asses and blasting them aren't necessarily the same thing.

tbf they've earned their reputation and don't have to do that. JFK isn't a top manager and has to take a different tack.

I thought the sale was the apology.

I don't think anyones attributing great managerial or motivational qualities to someone just because they're using foul language. It's more the emotion behind the expressions that they're cheering.

There's really nothing wrong with having pride in what you do.

3 more months for smith? edit: I like everything else he has to say too.

Good: Beye might be back. Bad: Oliver is still writing? edit: oh the carr rumor again. :-[

Based on how long it generally takes for replay footage on TV to get shown, I would assume an official in a booth somewhere could get any of those results in 30 seconds or less and communicate instantly on those little headsets to the ref. Have any time spent added on to stoppage time just like any other delay of game. With some kind of check in place to make sure refs don't become too reliant on it, like deferring all penalty decisions to the booth, I would be in favor.

I regret nothing.

Round?

I would say Carr coming back would be pretty indisputable proof of the non-existence of a higher being.

Fuck you, Davig Craig Don't tell me Mort's not here.

I don't think it's really so much the quality or level of the medical treatment elsewhere. The comfort level of the surroundings can have a huge psychological imact on the person which in turn can directly effect ones recuperation.

Apparently their latest offer is £200m which Ashley won't accept. They say they won't go higher because that will leave them with no funds for transfers, development etc. Waste of time if that's true. I can't fault them for trying to lowball someone who wants out.

He did, but he's also the one who convinced Keegan it could work. I think Mort would have succeeded where Llambias+Wise have clearly failed, but we'll never know.
-
tbh if Wise and Llambias were sacked tomorrow and Mort brought back I'd probably shit myself with glee.

Agree to some extent. Or at least someone whose "worth" isn't so completely tied in their various businesses that they have no spendable cash to invest.

in reality he's my 2nd cousin, or some such thing, and we've always fought over who knows the most, or in his case least, about NUFC I do find it entertaining though, the extremes that it's taken to on here, like it's the conclusion to the trial of some crime drama miniseries.-- the entire case against/for ones credibility rests on knowing whether or not a song was sung 30 years ago.
