Would much rather take a marquee RW. Wilson is really good when fit and would much rather gamble on him staying fit than hope Almiron/Fraser/Murphy doing something at RW. Marquee RW and some young £10-20m prospect as a striker would be class. I would really like even just Sarr and it would make a lot of sense but think we are hesitant due to his clear homophobia and the fun everyone would have if we signed him, just not worth the PR disaster.

It probably doesn't work in games where we have more possession but still think he had a really good game against Liverpool at Anfield playing as a CF. His lack of defending doesn't get exposed and he will create at least few half-chances out of loose balls every game and he gets to run at CBs more often.

That’s an NFL style one year ’prove it’ deal. Makes so much sense for both sides if Lingard wasn’t happy with the offers he received this summer.
-
What else could they do? They won the promotion with some great loanees who are now gone. Could take another 20 years for their next shot at the PL if they did a Norwich and are just happy to go back down again.

I don't think Cucurella even necessarily starts regularly. Zinchenko at LB was the weak link last season whenever he played there, now they can rotate Walker and Cucurella on the opposite side of Cancelo, Stones and Ake ready step in in case of emergency. Cancelo being able to play on either side is such a strength on top of his amazing ability, ridiculous player.

https://www.westhamzone.com/news/west-ham-to-get-record-228m-in-revenue-for-domestic-and-european-success/ £23m plus tickets from Europa League based on this. And a staggering amount of money (£125m) for finishing 7th in the PL. Just shows what we are competing against and leapfrogging even teams like West Ham won't be easy.

They are a PL team who got far in Europe.

It's a tough decision. He's better than a lot we have but going on loan and starting every week would surely be better for his development if he would only be a bench player. Think a lot depends on whether we can a sign a RW or not.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Yeah, and we can't replace everyone instantly. His biggest problem has always been his conditioning and mental side and I'm pretty comfortable in saying Howe has fixed those problems. -

Jonjo has already made few great passes, I don't mind having him in the squad for a season. -

He's probably good enough to stay based on the limited time I've seen him but surely being a starter in the Championship would be better for his development? -

Murphy has to score there, great from Anderson in the buildup. -

Can't find it on Finnish Cmore. Under which tab is it? -
I don't think so, very similar situation to us. Antonio and Wilson are very similar, both are very good and in an age where they don't want to be sitting on the bench but both teams desperately need another option too. Broja would be great for both of us but West Ham are playing more games due to Conference League.
-
What makes you think we want to enter the market for a LW too with all the trouble of signing a ST and a RW? Never going to happen IMO no matter what Howe thinks about ASM. ASM’s potential ceiling is also very high, I’m sure Howe wants to try to see if he can improve him before looking at other options.
-
We desperately need another striker and a right winger yet you think we are loaning out our LW too?
-
Yup, the only reason he would even entertain the idea of joining us right now is higher wages. I probably wouldn’t leave a team I just helped get in to the CL and potentially risking a spot in one of the best squads of the WC. He’s young enough to get his big money move later.
-
Yeah, it’s not impossible and would be a huge lift to the status of the club. It will just be incredibly hard. Big six squad values are 2-3 times that of ours and they are likely to spend just as much as we are spending. They also have sellable assets that we sadly lack for the foreseeable future. Then there’s the next tier of well ran clubs that are spending too that we would have to overcome.
-
I honestly think most people are expecting too much in a too short time frame. PL is really tough right now in the top half, 'big six' followed by clubs like Leicester, Villa, West Ham and Wolves. Looking at the squad values (https://www.transfermarkt.com/premier-league/marktwerteverein/wettbewerb/GB1) we are only ~50 million euros ahead of Palace and Southampton who are at the bottom if we exclude the promoted teams. We are massively behind Leicester and Villa who are 7th and 8th. We need to be the best of the rest just to qualify for the Conference League. To get to CL we need to be ahead of everyone else and three big six teams who are all constantly spending crazy amounts of money too. CL football being such a pull for the elite players makes it hard for us to sign the same caliber of players that teams who are/have been in the CL keep signing. Then there's the FFP. We had a great run to end the season but I don't see it sustainable no matter how good Howe is. In the long run you need to have a squad that is relatively close with the teams you are competing with. I'm extremely happy with our new owners and basically everything they've done so far but I just don't see getting to the CL even in 4-5 years a very likely outcome. The damage Ashley did to us will take years and years to overcome. It's nice to have the club back but hope our fans can keep their expectations realistic and can enjoy that we are trying again.

Are we a European powerhouse and did he sign a lifetime contract? -

Everyone slagging off PSG for going for the big stars. Now trying a more sensible approach that everyone wants us to do too but it's seen as they are just giving up. -

He chose to go to PSG to compete in a third tier level without having a chance to compete for the CL because they lack the players instead of coming to NUFC? -

So a better chance to compete for the CL at Newcastle in near future for Hugo? Deluded Geordies not so inaccurate.
