I just can't see a similar turnaround for Burnley or Watford at this point of the season. Watford haven't gained any kind of new manager bounce and they still can't defend even with Hodgson. Burnley aren't going to change their identity after all these years with Dyche and are a terrible team with terrible results (finally). We got rid of Ashley and Bruce that completely rejuvenated the whole club and city. We got a good new manager and good signings in January. It's just simply too late for Burnley, Watford and Norwich to change things around like we did.

24 teams just doesn't work and they were never going back to 16. Qualifiers are a bit ruined but I don't think the tournament is worse for it. Smaller nations did alright in 2020 and there were still decent countries missing like Norway, Serbia, Ireland, Greece, Slovenia, Bosnia, Romania, Bulgaria etc.

I've never understood this point, the rules are still the same. I would honestly expect the decisions in the highest pro level to get more scrutiny than in a Sunday League match. There's no fourth official in in grassroots either and no one cared. VAR is shite now (especially in England) but it will get better. The weird respect for the original decision and the bullshit clear-and-obvious shite has to go first. The reason for VAR was that the officiating really was shite but they are still too scared to change those terrible decisions made by those same incompetent refs.

There's really no attempt to even get rid of it anymore and it is absolutely accepted as being part of the game.
